Another sick individual in our country......
---------------------------------------
The body of a dog with rope around its neck has been found in the Colorado National Monument, apparently dragged to its death by a car.
Monument superintendent Joan Anzelmo says the adult male German Shepherd was found at about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. She says tracks left in the snow tell the story. She said they initially show the dog walking, then running and then being dragged over about 3 miles up steep and winding Rim Rock Drive.
The dog was left near the first tunnel on the west side of the park, which has sweeping views of red rock canyons. Anzelmo says park employees are determined to find whoever was responsible and will be working with veterinarians in the area to see if they have any information on the dog.

How about the individual that did this, why not focus on him/her? I'm sure the car didn't wake up one morning and decide he was going to kill a dog with the help of a rope. I'll bet this is not the first time this person has been involved in abuse.
Some sick individual needs to get jail time, not the car, or the rope, or the gun, or the knife etc. etc.
Good morning Hodie, Happy New Year!!!!!
Can you tell I don't like the press? LOL
Take care Hodie!

These things have happened before, when people have temporarily hitched their dog to a tow bar and then driven off........
Leaving the dog there may have seemed reasonable depending on a) how full the car was b) whether there were children inside c) if the dog was the car driver's..........and d) was it even "left" but had it just come adrift?

That particular news web site is certainly not my favorite. Sometimes the titles they use are way off base. I believe they use a lot of interns, some of whom cannot write a grammatically correct sentence either. I looked at other web sites for the same information and as of now, have not seen it.
In any case, this is another sick b@#$*&% who should be in jail. By the way, they have FINALLY arrested the man and woman responsible for 100 sled dogs who were starving up in the mountains near Hartsel, CO (eight dead around the property). A few have since died. The others are in shelters/rescues all around the state. The legal system doesn't move quickly when animals are involved.
And Happy New Year to you as well Ninja!

Just because something appears in print does not a) make it so and b) does not give the full picture.
I do not jump on bandwagons, nor do I spend my life being "outraged" at headlines which are designed to invoke just this response.
Sometimes jumping to conclusions is the only exercise some people get and if you think you cannot drag something that weighs 80lbs behind you on the snow without knowing about it, you may not have a great deal of experience of towing items uphill in snow.
As I said in my original post, this has happened before many many times usually with gundogs.
I like to ascertain the full facts before I come to a reasoned decision but I realise that is not everyone's preference.

Good to know that there are level headed, sane individuals in society.
got your rope and lynch party?
But of course, let us judge first before knowing the facts, and of course putting words into other people's mouths.
No doubt you expect for yourself and family the same outlook you extend to others; never let the facts get in the way of an opinion, however ill informed, biased and unfounded that opinion is!
there are certainly some assholes in this thread, that you do have correct.
ROFLMAO
