Is there a map that shows where each LG is located in Germany? And which are the most famous LGs?

by Silbersee on 20 December 2009 - 17:12
Mikee,
could you explain what you mean with "famous"?
Here is a list of the LGs:
LG 01 – Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein
LG 02 – Berlin-Brandenburg
LG 03 – Niedersachsen
LG 04 – Waterkant
LG 05 – Nordrheinland
LG 06 – Westfalen
LG 07 – Ostwestfalen-Lippe
LG 08 – Hessen-Süd
LG 09 – Hessen-Nord
LG 10 – Rheinland-Pfalz
LG 11 – Saarland
LG 12 – Baden
LG 13 – Württemberg
LG 14 – Bayern-Nord
LG 15 – Bayern-Süd
LG 17 – Thüringen
LG 18 – Sachsen
LG 19 – Sachsen-Anhalt
LG 20 – Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
When you look at a map of Germany, you will know where they are. The lowest number is in the North and the highest ones are former East Germany as they were added when Germany reunited (LG17 through 20). All foreign SV members are grouped together in the SV database as LG16. Southern Germany is LG 12 through 15. LG 12 is in the southwest, along the French border. LG 10 and 11 is in the Rhineland Palatine area (Belgium and Luxemburg borders). LG 08 and 09 is in the State of Hesse, LG 06 and 07 in Nort Rhine Westphalia, LG 05 is the North Rhine area, LG 04 is the Waterkant area which is the one northwest along the border to the Netherlands. LG03 is in the State of Lower Saxony whose capital is Hannover. LG02 is around the capital of Berlin and vicinity, and LG 01 is the Northern coastal area.

Is there a web site that lists the kennels in a particular LG? Or the dogs competing at a specific LG?

The Landesgruppen division correspond to the States in Germany - then the Orstgruppen are the clubs - Landes would be like State gruppen is group - Orst is city.
The map is on the SV site http://www.schaeferhunde.de/site/index.php?id=712
On the left side you can Click Landesgruppen and see the list and links that will take you to each Landesgruppen's website . Depending on he Landesgruppen, just lke here with our regional websites, they list the breeders who want to advertise.
Sometimes the trial results are posted, sometimes not - trial results other than an LGA (regional championshipt) then of course the National Championships, then the HGH, Agility qualifiers and championsups are not published by the SV - just shows and Koerungs - you can subscribe to the SID to get the Regional trials (usually August) and the FCI regional Qualifiers (usually in April and May) -
The SID subsription is electronic and you just log on on mondays to retrieve the file - the archives are also always available to you - you also get the Decknachricten - (Breedings) every several weeks - in that you can see what males have been bred to what females.
Link for subscription to the SID is down on the right side and says SID Online.
