Prager,
I would be interested as well in any information you have on Gent od Policie. He is in my female's lineage about 3 generations back. If you have any information on Jara od Policie, Gent's sibling, I would appreciate that as well since my two males have Jara in their lineage 3 generations back (one male was a rescue complete with papers from out of state, talk about a small world). I love finding out information about my dogs' lineage members.
Thanking you in advance

Gent od policie,IPO3, SchH3, ZVV3 Kkl1 beautiful dark sable male with big head. Genetically very excellent dog with. No major problems passed by him .Produced good hips and many other good attributes. His bitework was mainly based on defense drive that was his only shortcoming. HD-ZW 88

I talked to a gentleman who handled the dog I believe in Germany and he told me that he did not have very balanced drives. I would agree with you on that one. He said he was almost nervy. Defence and defence only..

Thanks both of you. This answers some questions I had about my rescued male (I was wrong about which dog had Gent in the lineage, I didn't have my pedigrees in front of me). Was Gent a vocal dog by any chance? Also Prager, beautiful pictures, especially the first one.
My dog was rescued from an abusive situation when he was about 6 months and I spent many months working with him to get him to remember he is a dog and not a terrified, quaking mess. He is one hell of a tracker and can trace a mouse fart through a windy field back to the offending mouse. He opens cupboards for peanut butter jars (unscrews the top by himself), doors, etc. He can jump like an antelope. He is awesome as a Search and Rescue dog. He has closed head injuries so I always wondered what he would have been like if I got him as a puppy. This picture was a candid, he just turned to watch a bunny. Helping himself to his favorite treat.

Do either of you know anything about Gent's sibling Jara od Policie? This is one from her lineage. (I know I saw the decoy go up here).

Thanks again

I was wondering if it was also training related. sometimes the dog is pushed a little too much too soon and Genetics are great but the environment kinda messes it up a little bit...
I would never take a well deserved title from a dog. Never. my comment wasn't ment to bash. It just confirm the info I got on him from a friend that is all.
He handled that dog for a while and got a puppy from him I guess he liked him enough...

Do either of you have photos of Jara od Policie? I like putting pictures of ancestors in my dogs pedigree packets (more for me then anything else), kind of fun when you lay them all out and look at your dog. Jara doesn't have any and I don't like poaching pictures from other sites without permission.
Prager, is it ok if I copy a couple of Gent's pictures you put up there, I will give proper credit and only put them in Ronin's private file.
GSDPack, yes I do believe that nurture is more important than nature when it comes to training although the genetics has to be there in some form. After what my dog must have gone through to be such a mess to what he is now is a testament to his genetics and how hard and patiently my family, trainer friends, and I worked with him.

Beautiful dog Prager. I like a dog with a little more defence.

Mindhunt,
Looks like you have done wonders with your dog despite the prior abuse. Thank you for taking him and showing him what it is to be loved and accepted for what he is. He is beautiful by the way. Too funny about the PB. Thanks for sharing!
