This past weekend my husband and I purchased a 4 month old female GSD from a breeder for a breeder/show/sch. Needless to say we were very excited about getting a puppy to start into showing and training. I contacted this breeder about a female out of a litter that she had sired by Xbox Dei Precision and put a deposit down on her.She then informs me that female is an open coat and probably would not be good for show. She then told me that she had this 4 month old female sired by Teejay Wilhendorf.I said ok..so we make the 5 hour drive to get her.
When we get there to the place, it is NOT a farm like the website said, just a house on maybe 2 acres with a place for the dogs out back. This "breeder" never offered to show us her facilities and never offered to show me the original pup that I had placed the deposit on.She was not friendly at all to us (should have been my first clue), I asked several questions about the puppy and got very evasive answers, finally she said she would go get the puppy, I followed her and she told me she would bring the puppy out to us..(another clue), she apparently did not want us to see her garage. The pup comes runnin out and is all excited and playful.Very beautiful puppy, we really like her.So this "breeder" says lets go in the house and I will get her paperwork for you, so I go in her house and she signs the AKC puppy application and hands it to me, I scanned over the parents listed and the pup's birthdate and it looked correct. She goes into this long drawn out story about how sick her whole family has been and that her daughter is home from college and she is sick and asleep in her home office, therefor she says she can't get to the contract, vet shot records, or microchip papers because she cannot risk waking her daughter up.At this point I didn't know what to say......I had a deposit down, drove 5 hours to get there, liked the pup........so, me being the trusting naieve person that I am......I ask her, do you promose to send me the contract, vet records, and microchip papers ASAP???? So she says certainly. I paid for the pup and took her and left.
The whole drive home I felt screwed and that is exactly what happened!
I thought I was purchasing a showline female with a contract with limited registration and that limited would be lifted once I got the dogs hips and elbows OFA'd.Contract included hips/health warranty. I did get the contract on the Xbox female that I placed the deposit on. I assumed the same contract was for this female as well. Never at anytime she say, that she would not give a contract on this dog.She told me she would send it all to me.
Once home I emailed her and told her that we were not pleased with the transaction, to please send me the same contract, vet records etc...she will not send us a contract, there is no shot/vet record, and she can't remember if the pup is microchipped or not...hmmmmmmmm
So after emailing her and asking her why???? she will not even answer our questions, on the puppy application she gave me full registration, I thought I was getting limited due to the contract/warranty.
And last but not least.........the puppy has a soft ear tip, barely noticeable but the tip does not stand. It probably is not gonna stand says my vet.
So to sum it all up, I paid a chunk of change for what I thought was a top quality showline female with the breeder lying about the paperwork,no shot record, no contract, no microchip...all the things she advertised, was a lie. When she answers my emails she does not answer my questions, she only says that I should not be so negative. She did offer a refund but this lady is so stupid that I am afraid if I took the puppy back it is untelling what she might pull.
The next time (if there is a next time), I purchase a GSD I will conduct a more thorough investigation a

It sounds as though she is breeding to good males, but if it felt wrong to you, you should have gone home, five hour drive or not. I've been in the position where a breeder and/or importer says they will get you a contract- and it NEVER happens! I would not hand over a dime without that contract and all available paperwork right in front of me. As for not being able to see where the dogs are housed; I would left right then and there. You have a right to see the kind of dogs your breeder owns and see the conditions your puppy has lived in. The only exception to me would be very newborn puppies, but newborns should be housed separately anyway.
Best of luck to you getting all the necessary information, and enjoy your puppy. You live and learn. With no contract, you have no proof of what you should or should not be getting with your pup, your word against the breeder's.

No it was not Milton
yeah you live and learn
i do take responsibility and i stated that did recognize a couple red flags
i just don't understand why someone who is breeding to some outstanding males would want to screw someone over knowing word is gonna get around
this scam artist should have had more respect for the breed and a customer!

My name is Philip Eramo from Milton Ontario, Canada . I am the breeder and the owner of VA Xbox dei Precision.
It is certainly very sad when these type of situation does happen. I am interested to know who was th mother of this puppy which apparently was bred to Xbox?
Please do let me know if you have this information. Good luck and I do hope that at end all parties involved will be responsible and do the right thing. Thanks Philip

I first put a deposit on a Xbox female but that female turned out to be an "open coat" and the breeder told me she would not be good for show. So she offered another female.
The puppy that I got screwed on was sired by Teejay Wilhendorf. This is a beautiful female 4 and a half months old. We just do not have a contract hip/health warranty or shot record.
I will do DNA

The puppy came from Clearcreek Bauernhof Kennel in Franklin Ohio and Tammy Molner is the breeder.
