Here is the snow out the back of my place. It is actually the river bed and it was flooded the night previous to the dump of snow through the night

The second event of shameless self-promotion was performed by the Tennessee DOT. "Yay-up, we'un's ready for this. We'un's got plenty of salt and brine and the crews are ready, blah, blah, blah, blah." Perhaps they were ready, but they failed to deliver as well. Roads were covered with snow and ice and the main interstate highways were not plowed until Sunday afternoon. I laughed when I read the story in the state newspaper that proclaimed "We Did It!" apropos the perfomance of the TDOT. The comments from readers did not agree; to say the least. Within two (2) days the state was whining about the cost of the salt and manpower they used. Geez Louise.
So, Bob was his wife's chauffeur as he used his old Dodge pickup to take her to and from work all weekend. I guess this makes Bob a true Go-Get'Her? LOL I noticed a farmer who lives on the same road as I was out showing the state and county how it should be done. Within an hour he had nearly one (1) mile of highway scraped clear. Bob was also on his trusty old John Deere; using it to shovel and scrape snow from the long gravel driveway and the road immediately in front of my house. I knew the wife might have a tough time as the turn from the road requires us to cross a lane and go up a steep and short paved area, and I wanted to bring her car home Sunday.
So again, we survived the "massive storm system, blah, blah, blah, blah" and did not purchase a single extra loaf of bread, container of milk, or dozen eggs. Something tells me that within a few days of a snowstorm scare that there are perhaps many Tennessee homes that reek from the odor of stale bread, spoiled milk, spoiled bologna, and rotten eggs. Or maybe not. This might explain why one-half of the population here is obese - as they must consume all of those horded supplies before they spoil.
It was snowing earlier today, but is is barely a dusting. May this be the last for 2010.
Best Regards,
Bob-O
