When you feel the tail, are the vertibre in smooth alignment?  Or is it abnormally bumpy, like it was injured and didnt repair itself perfectly?  When you relax the dogs tail, does it go straight, or remain curled?  If the dog is holding his tail that way it will alays feel tense i nthat area when its curled, and if you can get the dog to relax its tail it should go straight.  If it dosnt go straight when relaxed, and the tail does not feel like it has sustained past injury, I would say its a genetic fault, and I would request a discount from the breeder if I did not recieve a discount price to begin with, I know Mittelwest puppies arnt cheap and are usually sold for show.

You just want to start some crap?? Of course for the purpose of "Health" yes I would. To just be Handsome or Pretty.....hell no. Vanity is a Fault and I guess you have none.....how ignorant you must be. Why blow smoke up this young persons butt?? The dog has a fault that will pass on...and the person has their heart set on showing and later on, breeding this GSD. That is the trouble with the breed...people like you...go start your crap with some one else and put a brace between your ears...geeeezzzzzz how stupid. Your braces is a very dumb example... doesn't even compare, at all. People fix faults all the time.....yes they do and they fix things that are not broke.....What are you a plastic surgeon??? Get Real!

Sure, Vomzellmer, but with any luck they're not making a living selling their children.

Just think,  if only it was required of people to check each other's pedigrees, vetted with complete DNA profiles, before procreating, then I think we can breed out the crooked teeth and put those Orthodontists out of business!

My memory is bad.  Which breeder was it that someone on here said broke their dogs crooked tails to show them?

Was that not Mittlewest?  If not, forgive me.

If so, and this pup was from them....well, sorry, but  I'd contact the breeder if you paid a hefty price, maybe you can get some of your money back.

You know what Red Sable, but I remember something like that, too. ... and funnily the name Judy seems to mean something to me?

ls that not precisely whom I was alluding to? The second I read that his pup was from Mittelwest the whole sordid affair came to mind, hence the refeence to discipline. :-) Vomzellner, one of the differences between humans getting braces (often for HEALTH reasons regarding the bite, as much as vanity) is that those people are (usually) not pranced around a show ring to be judges solely on appearance. :-)

That would be nice ;)

I apologize for my previous statement Maxbear, I see what you meant and you are right, I initially read it as saying something else.

No problem Vomzellmer! Apology accepted and please excuse my rant.....I just get torqued about this type of thing. Nothing but a defensive outburst on my part, that I should have stated in a much nicer way, Sorry!

I AM SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION AND I THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR RESPONSES. I WAS NOT HEAR TO SLANDER ANYONE OR HURT ANYONES REPUTATION. I SHOULD HAVE JUST WENT TO THE BREEDER MYSELF AND ASKED IF THIS WAS A PROBLEM AND IT IS MY OWN FAULT I DID NOT DO THAT. I LISTENED TO ALL EVERYONE SAID AND I ENDED UP CALLING MITTELWEST AND THEY ARE GREAT. I TOLD HER THE PROBLEM AND SHE TOLD ME LIKE OTHERS ON HERE TO CUT THE HAIR ON THE TAIL AND I AM SHOCKED, HIS TAIL IS DOWN NOW AND LOOKS PERFECT, HE HAD ABOUT 2 INCHES OF HAIR THERE AND I GUESS BEING THE PRETTY BOY HE IS, HE WAS TO PREMADDONA TO LET IT HIT THE GROUND. I FEEL SO BLONDE NOW BUT I THANK ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND LOOK FORWARD TO SHOWING HIM AS SOON AS HES A LITTLE OLDER. THANKS MITTELWEST FOR THE BEST DOG I COULD EVER ASK FOR.
