Steve1, You are very correct, they will be mutts and nothing but mutts. When I sold my litter it was nothing but GSD X MALI cross, it drives me nutz when I see some b.s. fancy name trying to sell pups. You cant get papers on them because they are mutts/swamp rats.

Akamai, The litter went to SAR and PSA homes. I dont have any videos of the litter and I am not sure about which dutch female I will breed with.

Everybody has a type/style of dog they like and if it takes a mutt to make someone happy then let it be.

Ive heard that some police forces cross breed the 2 for the gsd's intelligence and the mali's agility.

Apart from one answer it looks like my posts are being ignored, That says much about some of the ethics of you Guys You will ruin two top breeds THINKING you are the one to improve what already is good
If most German Shepherd owners would be more discriminate in the Breeding of the Breed meaning more selective on a whole then there would be none of this talking shit by crossing it improves this and that
Most of the people who breed these Dogs whether they cross breed or keep a breed together anyway breed only to make money nothing else and that is fact, and i guess the ones who do it on this board are no exception
My opinions of some have gone downhill on this thread

I dont think people that mix the breeds are going to ruin the breed by putting a litter out every couple of years. Its gonna be all the people that mix two shitty dogs to have AKC puppies. Just look at the puppy add on the database, I would not touch half the litters but thats my opinion.

Still my question has not been answered, These Half bred Dogs, what will you get them registered as and will you get Papers for them by the powers to be in the country that you live in that is not so hard to answer is it

I dont know in other country`s but here in Holland they are registered in the database of "bloedlijnen" as a crossbreed so everything is known about these crosmixes and are known for generations back. And offcourse you can`t get papers for them.
But they are almost only used in KNPV and for the police.
But also cross dutch shepherd with german shepherds, but this is to get a good working dog, they don`t care about beauty or what the standart should be, they want a good working dog, i don`t see anything wrong with that, these dogs are bred for a purpose.

Steve Papers don't work Dogs work. People do this to get working dogs. In Holland there are these mixes that the people there can tell you more about many generations of their lines than you c an of a registered dog. People cross them to add fight drive, aggression, prey drive etc back into the German Shepherd. In Holland and Belgium one has to but look at the dogs and scores of their competition dogs both pedigreed and crossed to see that it WORKS great. Hell even the Germans are doing it, One man's mutt as you call it is another's working champion

Okay , But what are you going to register these Dogs as in your country with the powers to be,
You certainly cannot register them as a German Shepherd or a Mali so what will they be classed as only Cross breds nothing else They will in fact be Mongrels, albeit it Hybrid Mongrels but that all they are
How will you get papers for these Dogs to make them official, That will be the interesting thing to hear I for one am going to find out what would happen over here this side of Europe
