I love my chickens, I have 3 Silkie Hens, 1 Frizzled Silkie Roo, 2 Cochin Hens, 1 Frizzled Cochin Roo. I have them because they are fun to have around, everyone (including the dogs) enjoys their eggs, and the firtle ones I hatch and sell.... They make great lap pets, and gives the kids some extra chores. Great all around.

hahahaha, your funny Raymond, you have been here long enough to know the ropes. Hey now that you mention it, I just got an adolescent Roo, and my boys weren't having the new intruder so it was a cock fighting pen for about 1 minute, till I seperated them.... I'll try again tomorrow.

Hey Ruger- Are the silkies small? I think that is what one of my clients had.It was a little black hen and she would lay on  other hens eggs and then lay hers..She was so sweet and would let me pick her up...and she was so shiny and black.Cute little thing.

Yes they have a poofy head... VERY social, like sweet lap dogs that feel like angora rabbits. I cant post my pictures for some reason but here are a few girls.

THANK YOU, my Cochin girls are sweethearts too, I honestly think you can tame anything if you socialize it early enough, but these Silkies are something else! They LOVE to be held, never have I met a chicken like these, you who can, should invest in a $10. Silkie this spring.... You will not be disapointed, that is of course you get a rooster. The only down side is that they cannot be sexed like a regular chick, 6 months; you either get an egg or a "COCKADOODLE DOO!!!!"
