Steph,

I have forwarded the information to a man here looking for a dog. However, he has already asked what more is known about the dog. Why/how did you end up with him? I am not at all sure he would be interested. And unfortunately, it is simply a matter of time here before I also have a candidate or two for him since people are coming out of the walls contacting me wanting me to take their GSD they want to dump for no good reason.

He ended up at the shelter for the second time after 2 years, the gal that owned him refused to pay the $50 impound fee to get him out...so he was up for adoption, and being a GSD, they don't show well in the shelters as you know....
However, the shelter manager and people fell in love with him, but just didn't have the experience to make sure he went to the right GSD home. So they called me...The shelter manager didn't want him PTS, thought he had too much potential...

So are you saying he was running loose and got picked up by Animal Control and the owner would not pay the fee to get him released again?

Again, how old is he really and did you say he had obedience training?

He is 5 yrs old, yes he has obedience training, sit, down, heel, come, He minds very well on lead...microchipped, neutered and UTD on shots...

Steph,

As I suspected, the man here thinks there are too many uncertainties about the dog. If he were here, it would be one thing, but to have him there and then bring him here, if the guy did not want him or he did not work out with the man, it would be problematic. So I am sorry, but looks like we are at a dead end here.

Take care and be careful.

Sunsilver might be right about him looking kinda wolfy...the light eyes, the square muzzle, something about the shape of his front...

I have to say...I was looking at the pics over and over and I just don't see it. I have seen many GSD/wolf cross and nothing of the sort looked like him. He is a handsome guy and hope he doesn't have to be put down.

He doesn't look the least bit wolfy to me.  I think he's gorgeous.

HE has more slope than any pure wolf or wolf crosses that I have ever seen. Have seen lots of GSD's with the lighter eyes..the slope shows more when he is moving, he was scared here, just out of the back of my pickup...

He REALLY needs a home soon, I can't take any more dogs in that are waiting to come in till he is gone. I can place the others much quicker than this guy that is just sitting in a kennel, because I am not strong enough to correct him if he needs it and I don't want him getting away with anything...
