What's the big deal with panda's and the standard?
Go to every show ring and see dogs that don't live up to the standard.
Hunch backed, ski slope hock walkers aren't in the standard, but by golly, they are all over the show rings.
I guess everyone has "gotten used to them."

That's my boy! Although (LOL) I wouldn't call him a stud dog just yet - bred only once with no plans at this time for anything else. Have already turned down a couple breedings. I just put up some more snapshots of him on the pdb the other day. I love him to bits and am very grateful to his breeder, Windy Ridge. (I am NOT Windy Ridge).

GSDSRULE
You are soo correct with your statement above, there are some nice dogs who comform to the standard at the shows, but most do not.

That is an atypical dog for sure it looks like a Aussie mix the coat is wrong the structure is not GSDish the eyes are not GSDish and no amount of saying UC Davis claims its a GSD can convince me even the nose looks a little bulbous not a GSD trait ........ sorry

If the dog that Uberland posted by pedigree is called a German Shepherd I am an UNCLES MONKEY!
Poor Pike and Jeck in the long lost background, of course, we all know that Jeck threw some Liver Genes /and or blue, but who did the POLKA DOTS come from?
And I know nothing about lineage.

I also collect C . Burton Barber artwork and the St. Bernard is one of my favorite that he has out..I have a huge picture he produced with a gorgeous St. Bernard.
He used the St. Bernard in a lot of his proofs sold usually 100 -125 years ago originally.

This is one of the pictures I own of C. Burton Barber. He used, being English, many rat terriors and the St. Bernard is my favorite of all . He used many cats in his pictures also.
I have never seen a German Shepherd used as the English in that era did not have them.
