The vet wanted to put her on Science Diet Light food, due to the reduced fat content. I had a hard enough time getting her to eat the senior's dog food she ate normally, which was also fairly low fat. I dug in my heels, and told them to take that crap off the bill. No way way I paying for something that was moslty corn meal!!
A normal weight for her was 60 to 65 lbs. She was down to around 50 after her bout with pancreatitis. She did gain back a bit of weight, but died in her sleep 5 months later. She was 14 !/2

Sheesh,
My dog had the same thing except without the vomiting. I took her to the vet she had originally lost 20 pounds. They did a blood test and found out she had EPI.. Which is the pacreas. He has to eat a low fat dog food. My dog is own Nutro Natural for sensitive skin and stomach and well as pancreved powder (which you get from the vet.) She is doing wonderful. No more runs and she has gained all her weight back. She is now 84 lbs. If they do the blood test and it is below a certain level, that will determine if he has EPI. I would has him about this condiiton and to run the test. Hope th is helps.

I hope he is doing better. I just thought it was the same since EPI does deal with the pancreas.. Please keep up posted on the poor guy.
