Slamdunc

Hey Beetree,
Just got home from work and yes, please pour me a glass of wine.  I worked till 2 AM last night, it was cold.  Went to bed at 3:30 AM, got up at 9AM and went tracking, it was cold and windy.  Just got home from work at 2:30AM and am going to bed around 4AM.  After, that glass of wine or beer.  Got court at 9AM and work tomorrow night.  My dogs have been quiet but I've been keeping them (and me) very tired.  There's nothing worse than a whiny GSD when your trying to sleep.

You should all move to the PNW and our nice 40 degree winters!! I trained yesterday and, while I have the day off today, I am going to devote it to housework and vegging.

Or to God's country in Montana, been in the 40-50's the last several weeks, My grass is starting to green up...sure wish we had some snow...haven't been able to go outside because of the pneumonia, well I did go out to take some photos lol...
mmmm, glass of wine sounds great right now, but I have been doing the hot brandy, lemon, honey and nutmeg, or the hot chocolate and schnapps for the breathing...LOL...

Yesterday it was 7 F and today, 16.  It snowed all day today but it's so cold, it's blowing instead of sticking.  Makes shoveling a bit difficult, 5 times today, so far.  I don't mind it though, I actually like the cold.  My biggest problem is the salt, Drake can't walk in it and I can't find boots in my price range big enough for his paws.  The ones I'd like to get, I can't afford right now.  We've started walking at 4 a.m. before the salt goes down, still have to stay off of the pavement though.  It's pretty peaceful at that time but still doesn't help being cooped up during the light hours.  We play inside as much as we can, he loves to play "catch me if you can" around the table.  Not quite the same as a run in the woods but we'll take what we can get at this point.

I can't drink wine, messes with my blood pressure, but I've been making some wonderful mocha.  I make a pot of coffee and add cocoa powder to the grounds.  Then, whip some heavy cream (sweetened to taste) and add, along with a shot or two of Godiva Chocolate liqueur.  Pretty tasty and warms you to your toes!  I made a huge pot of potato soup today too, gotta have some comfort food in the winter!  Yummy!

52 degrees expected today. Ahhhhh, I love winters here, after seven years in Minnesota. I hear the weather report and temps in Minnesota and I am soooooo very thankful not to be there!!

GSDtravels....that's why there are antihypertensive medications!! LOL My BP would be more elevated without the wine. I just follow with a good beta blocker!

Seriously, alcohol is contraindicated in persons with hypertension most of the time.

My dog is driving me nuts with his toys and pulling on my arm whenever I am near the door! I am definitely not a cold weather person. I think the frostbite I experienced years ago as a helicopter medic in the army did some long term damage. I try to offer different exercise experiences with him during the cold spells, but I would love to move in the next few years to some place warmer, or at least have a second home for the winter months. Dreamer...

Steph, I never realized Montana was so warm during the winter months?? I always thought if it as bitter cold, but 40 degrees is much warmer than where I am located (Missouri- I call the state of misery).
hmm   maybe I can hitch a ride with Shelley wagon train. Guess we need to get a motorized wagon with a working tranney!

Davren, I already take BP meds, beta blockers don't work for me.  It's familial, and wine shoots me sky high.  Last time I indulged I ended up in the hospital at 230/122 and my head exploding, so I think I'll stick with the mocha :0)
