If the cholesterol is coming up as high in the tests your vet has run, personally I would stay away from giving your dog too many eggs. If the liver enzymes are raised and the cholesterol levels are high, this could be indicative of a thyroid problem. There are specific tests that can be run to check the thyroid. As I am aware, there are many causes of raised liver enzymes from something as simple as tartar on a dogs teeth or medications that a dog may have taken. Liver enzymes can of course also be raised if there is an underlying illness too. I hope you get to the root of the problem soon as I can imagine it must be a worry for you. x

I had 2 boys on Royal Canin (the natural one) . It was interesting that both these boys were related and both had these cholestrol deposits showing up in their eyes and one boy was 2 and one was 7-9 years old. These boys were not able to assimilate the fat that royal canin was using in their diets. It was interesting to me that they were such different ages; and lived in different households but showed the same deposits on their eyes. Of course, we immediately changed their foods and they both showed improvements in the eye exams years later, improvements as in no more deposits on the eyes. Go figure.
It goes back to the same (excuse the expression) SHIT that the dog food manufacturer's are giving us in their diets. I am so tired of it, makes me want to cook for them again. And I just might. Nanci
