I actually thought of your dog when I saw this, Slamdunc, I remembered you saying how he doesn't have an off button when it comes to playing fetch the ball, and you banish him when you need some peace, lol. It is also good to see how the dog will stop and take a break when he has had enough.

I don't know what the size limit of the balls are, whether they are limited to tennis balls, but you make a good point Davren. I thought of an improvement, though, like if you could adjust the GoDogGo to make an arc, like a water sprinkler, for more variety. Somebody clever could probably figure it out.

And I bet any dog standing in the way of the chute when the ball comes out will probably only do that once, unless it is a rather dumb dog.

I had seen something like this advertised on one of the Animal Planet shows the other night. It of course made me think of my boy Sam who I lost at the end of September. He loved playing ball, could never get enough. Whenever we had company, he knew they had come to see him and he met them with a ball in his mouth. I used to joke, he would be no good if someone broke in unless of course the burglar tripped over the ball Sam would drop at their feet.
I couldn't help but laugh when the one of the grand kids came over. At first they enjoyed throwing the ball for Sam, but eventually got tired and tried real hard to ignore him. That didn't work, he would follow them around and shove the ball in their hand or lap if they were sitting. They would get annoyed and as they picked up the ball to throw away from them, they would say I DONT WANT TO PLAY ANYMORE! Sam didn't hear them, he just knew they threw the ball again so he would get it and be right back to shove it again in their hand.
Sam would have loved one of those ball tossing machines. If I had seen one before, I would have bought it for him.
I miss him so much.

Oh, so sorry for your loss! Sammy sounds like he was a great friend and that you have great memories to keep him alive in your heart.

GSDsamsonsmom,
Sorry for your loss.  A dogs only fault is that they don't live long enough.  I read somewhere that the greatest tribute you can pay to your dog is to get another one of the same breed.  That's why I stick with GSD's.

Beetree,
I have been contemplating buying a little basketball hoop for my dog and teaching him to dunk for the fun of it.  Since he naturally wants to drop his ball in a hole or bucket.  This godoggo could be the answer and the solution to one of my biggest problems...Thank you for posting this!

Renee,
I have the same problem with my dog dropping toys in our built in pool.  He thinks that is a game as well, for me to fetch them out.  I tried throwing him in a couple of times but he hates the pool.  Why will this dog jump into the deepest, nastiest, most polluted,  mosquito infested ditches around when tracking but refuses to go in the pool?  I think he gets some bizarre joy out of dragging me into the ditches.

Jim
