You don't have to be nuts to do this sport at this time of year in Canada, but it sure helps!
Here's what conditions on the training field looked like at the end of November. I have to confess I was not there that day, as I was sick with bronchitis and a fever.
Soon we will break for the holidays, then resume training indoors in late January.

I prefer it to the heat and humidity of the south in summer lol

Agreeing with GSDNewbie, would much rather train in the snow and cold than the heat and humidity. My dogs prefer it also. Just have to be mindful of the slick ground!

If you want to trial in March or April, you need to train during winter.

I imagine they didn't do much in the way of helper work or obstacles that day, for that exact reason, RLHAR!
Going up to 12 C today, and most of the snow is now gone. Should be good for training on Saturday, and I plan to be there!

We're in Central Alberta- -28°C today. The dogs were shivering and picking their feet up this morning the second they stopped running. We have a barn so we're set for obedience training. What do folks do for tracking training in places with severe winters?

Wow, THAT´S COLD!
As long as we don´t need to ( trial coming soon ) no tracking in snow, too many training mistakes. Dogs do learn fast, and not always what they are supposed to learn.

We're doing off-track article indication in our barn but I was just curious what else folks did.
