Does anyone know of WSS that have been imported into the UK. My friend and myself would like to try and get the breed accepted in the UK but for this we have to have a record of dogs in the UK how many, breeding etc etc. We both have had GSD's and I still have, but of course whites and long haired cannot be shown at KC shows. We would like to introduce the WSS to the KC and hopefully get it recognised, we are looking into starting up in Spain, as that is where my friend resides, showing etc over there, building a good line, and then importing over here - eventually get them we hope accepted onto import register and then onwards and upwards as the saying goes. At least that is the plan. So any other UK enthusiasts of the WSS out there please step forward and see what we can do.

There are definitely some enthusiasts in your area.  Try joining this group and asking there.  There are several people in your area with whites that would love to help get KC recognition.  http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/GSDBluesandLivers/

Thanks Erica have applied to join, I also have a Blue GSD so it will make interesting reading. Once again thanks for your help.

Where did you get your blue?  I'm wondering if the breeder is actually on that list already.

We got out Blue from a lady called Karen Park (Mysti-skies). She has quite a few Blues and Blue/Tan.

Hi Linton,
First good luck with the recognition, It's going to be hard but It's worth trying. I live in Spain like your friend and this year we've founded a white swiss shepherd club CEBBS (berger blanc suisse spanish club)I'm the secretary,  you can see our website at  www.cebbs.es. We are also starting and we accept both international and national members, they can be breeders or simply owners. If you tell your friend it will be great to work all together.

Thanks Juan but we already know about the club as Sue is having one of Mathilda's pups. She has been round and booked her baby the other day and hopefully will get her next week so will be a member of the club, as Mathilda has it as part of her package. A start, to hopefully a new show career in showing for her and hopefully as time passes her pups will be brought into the UK to start our campaign to get the recognised breed here. But we do need more in the UK which is why I was trying to find others that had been imported. Still will persevere and see what happens, keep fingers x'd.

Linda your friend Sue is taking a dog from one of the best kennels I know. My dear Mathilda is an excellent  friend and only has TOP QUALITY DOGS. Is a great way to start ,does'nt matter how long it takes or how hard it is , It's always better to promove quality instead quantity.
I will keep my fingers crossed for the white shepherd in the UK.

Why not try and compete along with the german shepherds first?
This would surely get the topic a hot subject and make some realise that there is need for the white to have a seperate status in the GSD breed?

Has everyone seriously looked at all of the options?

To compete alongside the gsds, we would have to transfer our wss onto the gsd registration, we have no wish to do this, after years of keeping the line pure, why should we have to compromise the line by changing the registrations from wss to gsd. The KC should not be registering wss as gsds....they are a breed to themselves.
I had enough flac in the ring when I tried showing a heavy coat gsd, with fantastic lines, colour etc but was told in no uncertain terms, he is a long coat............................unplaced.............................. I certainly wouldnt change registration for small minded people only to do the same with them. I could put my White gsd in the ring and see the reaction, though I already know what it would be................

We are in the process of looking at various options, but the KC are not playing ball.........suprise suprise...

Linda
