The Nazis persistently used vile means to cut Captain Max Von Stephanitz off from his life’s work and when he resisted they threatened him with a concentration camp.

Did you know Hitler had a little Pitbull? I sure didn't. I imagine he loved that due to "Stubby", The Pitbull used in WW1 to deliver messages between battalions, assisted in the capture of a German spy and was decorated for bravery by General (Black Jack) Pershing.

Very interesting!! :)

Abhay, I love history, but this is a time I'd just as soon forget. Of course, it's your perrogative to post links like this to a public database. I don't mean to sound as if I'm trying to censur you, but please be aware that all here might not find them to be anything other than crude reminders of one of the most hideous events in world history and of no entertainment value whatsoever.

by Blitzen on 27 October 2007 - 17:10

Abahy, after carefully reading these links I feel the need to offer you an aoplogy as I see you meant well and intended them as historical information on the GSD. I knew Ernie Loeb, he was a very well respected AKC judge and well-known dog man. He was a tough man to show under, was very regimented and expected the handler to do exactly as he said or else LOL.

Sorry for the scolding, I am overly sensitive about this period of history due to my family history in Germany and that of some friends who had relatives survive and die in the death camps. Next time I'll think before I press the send button.

Blitzen, I can't believe you would feel this way. Are we supposed to forget history, and not learn about it or from it? Isn't this a GDS board? Was not Captain Max von Stephanitz  “the Father of the German Shepherd Dog”?.  I found all the old pics and the info on the links I posted interesting. I guess you prefer everyone to put blinders on and act like an ostrich with their heads in the sand.

I assure you that I was in No way trying to offend anyone.

Blitzen..utter Nonsense.

General Patton wanted to Re-Arm the Germans and Invade the real enemy and reason Hitler was taken out, to make way for Communism, Russia got half of Europe & All of Poland.   There were over 2 Million German POWs died in Allied care, starved & exposed to the elements. Patton was furious and later said that "we just destroyed the greatest race in Europe."

The truth is that according to the Red Cross Holocaust Records (meticulous) and recently Unsealed, show only 271,000 Concentration Camp victtims, 98% of whom died of natural causes-Typhus, due to the supply routes being cut off due to allied bombardment. This link has the actual Red Cross documents at the bottom. So spare me the melodrama.

Okee Dokee, I'm bored and gonna bite......

I know, UG & Abhay, that you both tend to be very outspoken in regards to current & historical political events, truth or fiction, fact or folible.

Many times you both can get people boiling with your views, myself included sometimes, but, I sense a deep desire in both of you to see real change in the direction our country and world is going.

I pose a question to you:  if you were given the power to change things, say you both were voted as President & Vice President, what would your first order of business be?  Please think about this as I see many people complain about the sad state of affairs we are in but offer no real, viable solutions.  Please also remember though, you have to get your stuff past the Senate & Congress.

And my question for others is:  would you vote for Uglydog & Abhay in the 2008 election?  Of course we would have to give them both better names...LOL....

by clewsk9s on 27 October 2007 - 18:10

.....and one other question for both of you.....for my personal interest.....have you either ever read a book called the Celestine Prophesies?  Just curious........just a 'yes' or 'no', no commentary needed on it and I will tell you why I ask after you answer.

by Abhay on 27 October 2007 - 18:10

clewsk9s,

I am very surprised that you say I have been political on the board.  I do know, I get too outspoken and become a "Mr. Knowitall" on certain dog topics. If you get the chance, please post any threads or posts where Ive been political.

With the recent fires in Cali, I believe the environment and Global warming should be brought to the forefront.

I also believe we need a government willing to have a dialogue with unfriendly nations before we rush off to attack. Your question really took me by surprise. I would need some time to really get my thoughts together regarding what you ask. Please look for my political threads.

I have never read the book you speak of. Until now, I have never even heard of it.
