http://www.rintintin.com/Condolences.html

So many of us grew up with Rin Tin Tin and that's how our love of German Shepherd Dogs started.  This is a link to a little history of him and to send condolences.

Yes, very sad Rin Tin Tin #657 has died.  Well, don't worry, they have Rin Tin Tin #658 - 800 either already on the ground or will be bred very shortly.  They put out a ton of puppies every year & their sole claim to fame is they are descendants of the original rin tin tin.  Nothing but a puppy mill making a lot of money off of ignorant people.

I can't beleive the negativity on this board!!

I suggest you check a little more carefully, sue:

http://www.rintintin.com/ARfkids.html

Also, go here and scroll down to the info on Bodyguard's  Fido Jo, who worked as a security guard dog: http://www.rintintin.com/pedigree.htm

Miss Hereford, the lady who currently has charge of the Rin Tin Tin legacy, has also placed many of the dogs with the Dallas police. I can't find the link to that info right now, but I KNOW it's there somewhere!

Notice that none of them show in conformation? Yeah, they're too old fashioned in their build!

Also, ALL Rin Tin Tin puppies MUST be spayed or neutered, except for those Daphne considers are future breeding stock. She places those in carefully selected homes, under a co-ownership contract.

NOT EXACTLY A PUPPY MILL, BY ANY STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION!!

Omigod that is the worst looking collection of GSD's I've ever seen in one place.  Talk about a scam!  Yeah, I want to pay $3500 for one of their pups.  Was the orginal Rin Tin Tin in anyway actually connected to these people?

YES. These dogs are direct descendants of the original dog. http://www.rintintin.com/pedigree.htm

They are in the database here, if you want to look. The original Rinty was only 4 generations removed from Horand von Grafrath!

Oh please.  These dogs are only being bred because they are descendants of Rin Tin Tin & you think that's a good thing????  So what if the original was 4 generations removed from Horand.  That has nothing to do with the current dogs.  They are a disgrace.

Okay fine, they are descendents but that does not mean they should be breeding them.  I paid $75 for an American bred pup from a BYB (I still have her) and that's about what I'd give them for one of their pups.  There is no rhyme or reason to their breeding program.  They have white, sables, black/tans, black/silvers and it makes for a bunch of washed out looking, badly built GSD's.

I guess you all missed my first sentence.  I'm not promoting the dog or his progeny.  Just mentioning that SOME of us started our love of GSD's by watching him on TV.  Didn't know it would upset you all so greatly.  Sheesh.  Can't even mention something as innocent as that without getting heads bitten off.

Out of the last litter, three dogs went for service dogs. Gee, I thought you working dawg people measured a dog by what he could do, and not so much by their looks?

Oh, I forgot. They're not Schutzhund dogs, so they're not worth crap!

Rin Tin Tin is a living legend, a hero to thousands of kids in the past. Read the history: see what Duncan and his dogs did for the war effort in WWII. I think it's great that his legacy is being preserved. And Rinty serves as an ambassador to teach school kids about dogs. Nothing wrong with that.

If Daphne were truly in this just for the money, ALL the pups would be going to pet homes, instead of being used as service and SAR dogs.

Again $ 3500.00? A bit steep don't you think? I donate working line pups on regular basis.
