German Shepherd DogOthello SchutzengelI was the breeder of Othello, and Othello was a BITCH, not a dog! I know.. sounds like a male's name, and should be, but I knew of a very brave woman author named Othello, so this is why I chose this name. The pedigree posted here is completely bogus (besides incomplete) and Othello was the result of an outside breeding to one of my studs, where I promised to do the breeding if the bitch OFA'd (hoping she would not). She did, and the rest is history. I more or less gave the pick puppy (for the stud fee) to a friend and he made her into a foundation bitch! On the dam's side, it was what I used to call, "pet trash breeding".. old American lines and nondescript backyard pet breeding. Lady Destiny has a strange sense of humor and as it happened, Othello ended up in the pedigrees of quite a few local dogs passed around by local training buddies, down in "South Central" area of Los Angeles, near the home of the 83rd St Crips. Finally found it's way to Florida and beyond. LOL Well, I always laugh when I see Othello in a pedigree, because she may have had some "adopted" descendants (in name only), because the real momma never got her AKC papers. It's all a long, convoluted story, and I had no part in the paper games that followed (allegedly, OK?). I just found out about it, much later, when I actually bought a bitch pup with "Othello" in the pedigree. When I saw the AKC pedigree, I started to laugh, because I knew the real pedigree (in this instance). I left the papers with the breeder and never claimed them. Who wants phoney AKC papers? Now, I've had people ask me so many times about this bitch and I'm going to have to look it up in my old records so I can set this straight, once and for all. It's been well over twelve years, now. But, I seem to recall that Othello's sire was the great working dog producer, Asco vom Rauberhauptmann, FH1. This was just a test breeding for him. No one knew at the time what fantastic offspring he produced for working (he did!), and this is why Othello became such a hit, as I recall. The people were after the Asco blood! Again, I have to look it up to get the pedigree right, but I hope to get around to that, one of these days. Please do not PM me about this. I don't do much on this site, anymore and I never check my PM's. ....13.4 years ago
