The most loyal dog that ever lived, so strong even as he battled Degenerative Myelopathy, never once did he show any sign of pain and never once did he not try to run to me when I called him, tail wagging and bright eyed wanting to play. He had OFA Excellent hips, but dysplatic elbows. Those "bad" elbows were what he used with amazing skill to drag himself around when his rear quarters gave out on him. He never stopped, though, and would continue trying to catch his frisbee as if refusing to acknowlege his rear legs were unwilling to cooperate. He never gave up, never let it get him down, ever. I have never seen a dog with such heart, such keen awareness and such devotion, and I doubt I'll ever see it again. He was "the one" for me, the best of the best, incomparable. I miss him terribly already, and always will. I love you, buddy. Grab a frisbee in heaven and be ready...we'll play again one day, God willing. .... | 17.6 years ago |
