I was rather disturbed over the sign company that thought these tailgates would be a great way to show off their attention to detail when painting. Especially in light of the following statistics, keep in mind these statistics are only the 25% reported to law enforcement. Makes me wonder about the mental state of a company that thought these were ok, are they a depiction of wishful thinking?????
A woman is beaten in the United States every 9 seconds by her current male intimate partner, 3 women die every day from violence at the hands of former or current male intimate partner, domestic violence is the leading cause of pregnant women homicide with the majority of unborn dying from the trauma. 10 million children witness domestic violence every single day. This is not only in poor taste but sick sick sick.....

Wow, agreed. It takes a pretty sick mind to think of something like that. Why not paint it filled with potted plants or flowers? Really disturbing.

Brad Kolb of Hornet Signs in Waco Texas said he did this to increase awareness of domestic violence against women. He has since taken the sign/wrap off his employee's truck and burned it, then donated money made off the wrap to domestic violence shelters. He admitted it was a bad way to go about increasing awareness (I think he may have thought it was a great advertising then got caught). Unfortunately others have taken the images and created their own. The blonde woman was Brad Kolb's sign, the brunette is someone's rip off of Brad's idea. Apparently there are a few more floating around. Frightening that someone would not stop to think of how this type of image would further objectify women and legitimize violence. Then again I am very sensitive to this since many of my clients were victims of domestic violence and sex trafficking.
