RIP to those murdered. Curious to see how this plays out over this hot summer.

So young to be so filled with hate. What is going on in our world where so much cruelty and violence is occurring? I feel it is a combination of many things but I will for now keep my opinions to myself and just send prayers to the families, all families including the shooter's.

When you add up the numbers, a very disturbing picture of Obama’s presidency begins to unfold. He was elected as the “racial uniter”, the Nobel Peace Prize president who was going to“stop the rise of the oceans” and “heal our planet.”
Yet his 6 and one half years of occupying the desk at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue hide a sinister statistic – America has had 20 mass shootings since he became president, and yesterday’s mass killing in Charleston now brings that total to 21. And since this is a list of shootings only, it does not include the Boston Bombing Massacre that Obama used to roll out martial law for a 24-hour period in Boston. How do you explain that?

how disgusting, RS would use a traged as fuel to promote her conspiracy delusions, no morals or any trace of human empathy, what a disgusting human being.

This has nothing to do with Obama as President unless this shooter was enraged that we had a black President, which seems to be a common thread among some congressional members. We could also say the sharp increase in horrific animal abuse cases, especially dogs have occurred during Obama's tenure as president, must be his fault. Let's be real here.
The number of people killed in the last 30 years during a mass shooting is now 569
The number of people killed every day in drunk driving vehicle accidents is 28 and in 2013 alone the number totaled at 10,076 (thinking drunk driving is more of a danger than guns)
In 2013, 44,000 people died from drug overdoses (how is that war on drugs going?)
And to me the most frightening statistics that no one really talks about is more women have been killed by male intimate partners than all the soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan (this is not man bashing, just statistics).
- 18,000 women killed in domestic violence by male intimate partner since 2003
- 3 women are murdered every day in the US by a current or former male partner
- 38,028,000 women have experienced physical domestic violence by a male intimate partner in their lifetime
- Women with disabilities are 40% more likely to experience male intimate partner violence
- Every 20 minutes in the US, a woman experiences male intimate partner violence
- 1 in 4 women will be victims of severe violence by a male intimate partner in their lifetime and 1 in 7 males will be victims of intimate partner (both male and female) violence in their lifetimes
- Every 9 seconds a woman is beaten in the US by her male intimate partner
- Intimate partner violence is the leading cause of female homicide and injury related deaths during pregnancy (a real crime against the "unborn")
- 10,000,000 children exposed to domestic violence every year
- Of the above statistics, remember, only 25% of physical assaults perpetrated against women are actually reported to the police annually
So if you want something to get really upset about and want to do something to stop violence, how about starting with domestic violence perpetrated against women??? The number of women and men who have experienced domestic violence I have seen in my therapy practicums is staggering.
