So Travels, are you implying that the "customer" should have the ability to "dictate" what goods and services a business supplies to the public????

I'm not implying anything.  If an employee is incapable of performing the services she's been hired to provide, she should be fired!

" If an employee is incapable of performing the services she's been hired to provide, she should be fired!"

So, I own a bakery and hire a black women to decorate cakes the way customers want them, that's her job.

A guy comes in and wants a cake decorated showing a grand wizard KKK person with a black man hanging from rope around his neck in a tree in the backround. She refuses, so according to your statement she should be fired.

The courts have already weighed in on your scenario and you've lost that argument, so let's go to scenario number 2.  If she refused to sell a generic cake off the shelf to that same black woman, you'd be okay with that?

Interesting and thought provoking~

Clearly the news anchor was bias, lol

It's a slippery slope because just as ML said above,  if we are going to make rules they must be across the board~

In my opinion going against conscience is unwise~

Bias?  Conscience?  Are you serious Ruger?  The woman had a miscarriage, as if that's any of this moron's business!!!  She was hired to dispense drugs, not religious platititudes!  The self-righteousness is jaw-dropping around here!  Such christian kindness and yes, that's a SMALL "c".  You should be ashamed!

by vk4gsd on 16 April 2015 - 04:04

well everyone on the planet shares the same views, opinions and beliefs so what could go wrong?

Ruger is 100% right, when you have a "blanket statement" there are always scenarios that shouldn't apply.

The correct way is the Liberals little "freedom of choice".

The business has the freedom to make and produce and sell what they want, the customer has the right to purchase what & where they want. It's called free enterprise and a free country and "special interest groups don't belong changing it".

If you don't like Walmarts policies than vote against them with your wallet, go elseware.

Are you going to walk into a Jewish or Muslim deli and sue them because they don't sell ham & bacon or babyback ribs? There is no end to this foolishness.

Everyone has choices, exercise them, don't try to FORCE someone to suit your wishes.
