A friend posted this on Facebook and I expected the usual, humdrum claptrap that is usually the "face" of Pittsburgh, but this one actually captures its heart. This is my hometown and it makes me proud, we really do have a lot to offer and this made me realize how I've come to expect it. It dawned on me just how lucky I've been! I'd say our inclines beat the San Fancisco Trollyes any day of the week. Oh wait, we had Trolleys too :) They've now turned into the "T" subway, but they run on the same tracks outside of the downtown area. I took a trolley to high school, the school building was on a hill overlooking "The Junction", home of the entire public transportation operation, where steel tracks went off in every direction, around the mountains and over the trestles. It really was a great place to grow up and it's still a great place to live.
Anyway, if anyone is interested...

"On the whole I'd rather be in Pennsylvania." ???
I used to have a great aunt who lived in Pittsburg. She came over to

My sister-in-law has family in Great Britain, she and my brother were just there last year. I like Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh in particular, there's a lot of history here, but they're also fairly progressive. It has its issues, but not nearly as bad as other comparble cities.
On the whole, I'd rather be in Hawaii, but...

Travels, a couple of years ago I had dinner in the LeMont Restaurant - I will remember the breath taking view for the rest of my life.

I'm glad you got to eat in one of our finer restaurants on Mt. Washington. If you're ever in town again, I'd be happy to show you some better views that let you see all three rivers at the confluence, looking stratigh at "The Point".
