Remember how I complained about getting lost in Pittsburgh twice when I went down to W. Virginia to pick up Gracie last year? (See this thread here: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/forum.read?mnr=699324-buckhannon-wv-lewisupshur-co-shelterfgsd-6-yo-red-and-blk&pagen=2 )
Well, this might explain WHY!!

Drive, by yourself, an F350 four door dually through NYCity to Long Island, pulling a twenty four foot gooseneck horse trailer, loaded with horses and sled dogs, in rush hour traffic, locate the Nasau Colleseum when you've never been there before, during the CB era, no GPS telling you where to turn, all navgation done with a Rand McNally map. Oh, and in NYC they have double and triple decker bridges ;-)
I did not get lost not for one second........ I just didn't know where I was most of the time. Lol but I got there with my precious cargo undamaged and with out having to back track or regroup. :-)

Nope, have never driven in the L.A. area.
The most challenging drive of my life was getting from Edinburgh, Scotland, to the Isle of Mull. It was my first experience driving in the U.K. The open road driving wasn't bad, but getting in and out of Edinburgh was HORRIBLE!
Oh, and I lost my passenger side mirror when I smacked it agianst the rear of a bus in one of the small towns. Lucky for me, the bus didn't seem to notice...
The roads on Mull are all one lane wide, so if you meet someone, you have to find a lay-by to duck into. I was dreading that part of the trip, but it was actually the nicest part of the whole drive!
Red deer, Isle of Mull. I saw hundreds of them, as they came out to graze in the evening!

Sunset, Isle of Mull

Highland blackface sheep and lambs

There are times you just close your eyes and hit the gas. LOL I love Philadelphia. When the light turns green someone is honking their horn. Hell I can get lost with a GPS.
