OOooh, that all went a bit P.Tong, didn't it ? No wonder many of us
say there ought not to be any 'wild' animals in Circus. Should be
compulsory viewing for any one who still believes its ok to make lions
act like poodles, even where training methods and containment are
exemplory - which I kinda doubt was true in this case. [ Gosh, he was
SO determined he'd stay "The Boss" over that lion, wasn't he ?]
BUT why is the vid headed "Lion attacks a woman ..." ?

That circus was probably not in the US. The second cat into the ring was dead lame and all his mane was plucked...USDA would not allow them to use him in such horrid condition. Society has grown beyond this kind of "entertainment". Hopefully ,for the cat's sake, such acts will become extinct. If the cats had not been declawed, the humans would not have escaped so easily.

And what is worse, the lion was likely shot for being "violent."

I have a friend who rescued big cats from stupid owners who thought owning a lion or tiger was COOL. He would rehabilitate them to zoos and such because in many cases the big cats' earliest interactions with humans was generally poor. He said of all the big cats, lions were the hardest to train and were the most dangerous. He also said "compulsory training" was counterproductive. Only positive training methods would work because you rewarded good behavior not punished bad behavior, you as a human had to be the source of all that is safe, good, and fun. This was back in the late 80's and I believe he was ahead of his time.

Reward or punishment,
wild animals even raised in captivity do not process this way.
Especially big cats, I know of one death first hand by a bottle fed hand raised cat.
You can never take them for granted.
Zoos can be just as cruel as anyplace else, but some animals have no choice.
If wild animals are to survive they need only to be left alone in wild places separate from man.
That's not to say man can't be in wild places, as long as he does not in anyway impact those places by his presence.
The dog video's, show only how stupid people can be, including those who should know better.
