I have had friendly disagreements with those I know on this. Hopefully we can keep this friendly. :/
Do we as Christians physically prepare for what we know is coming or do we sit back do nothing and put our faith in God?
Just curious what other's on here think.
When (not if) the American dollar crashes, what do you think will happen? Will prices sky rocket? Will the whole world go into a deep depression?
Where is the safest place to be in your opinion?
And, should we be stock piling food, water and necessities?

Hi Janet
The Christian who is prosperous in hard times is the one who has given
up on the council of the ungodly, and who has cast himself on the
word of God as his only guide. Blessed is the believer who refuses to
make decisions,or invest,or be influenced by the council of ungodly experts who
hold Gods word in derison.
If you want to be prepared youre going to forsake all your dependence on
secular thinking. God will not allow his bride to depend on anyone or anything of
this world. His followers are to have the mind of his son.
And like Jesus, they are to seek the Father with all their heart, soul, mind and strength.
Isa. warns that all confidence in ungodly help will ultimately fail.

Thanks Gouda, except the Bible also predicts famine, increased inflation, undrinkable water etc. So knowing that, and believing in what God says, is it wrong to physically prepare?
For instance, I have much respect for Chuck Missler and his church. Listen to this, and let me know what you think. :)

You are not yet who you will be so keep repenting, but by God's grace you are not who you were so keep rejoicing.

Bc, what kind of an answer is that?

Gouda, do you really believe that those who prosper despite hard times
are only those who follow your god ? What about people who do precisely
that (i.e. are good Christian folk, well-behaved true believers) who still do
not 'prosper' ? You can be happy in yourself, and as good a god-botherer as
anyone else, but you still might not 'prosper', due to: er, let's see, illness;
poverty; social status inflicted by others; subject to bullying at work; unable
to get work .... a whole raft of stuff. So unless you have reinvented the definition
of the word 'prosper', what you seem to be saying (here we go again) is that
there must be something those people are doing or not doing that puts them
outside what you call a believer & a follower of god.
What about people who are as rich as Croesus and yet are not good Christians;
they may be perfectly happy and feel they prosper in every sense ( even if you
wouldn't agree with them), but to the world as a whole, they clearly are prospering.
And what about when your Armagedon - or whatever title you want to use - arrives,
do the people who are not IN YOUR VIEW prosperous, fail to get saved ? It's a lot
like the 'innocent babies' debate, is it not ?

It was just a message that was delivered at service this morning. I personally have a supply of water and food to last several months. My kids joke that I live on a 2 acres compound with two German Shepherds patrolling the 5 ft cyclone perimeter fencing with privacy slats . Needless to say well armed. They know where to go if times get bad

Hi Janet I believe barrycades is referring to THE DOCTRINE OF SALVATION.
SALVATION IMPLIES 3 DIFFERENT TENSES.
1- The past tense of salvation. To the believer it is completed LUKE 7:50;JOHN 5:24; 10:28,29
I CORR. 1:18.
2-- The present tense of salvation. To the believer,we are saved by His salvation
to us saved from the power of sin 1John 3:9; 5:4. As a believer,we still have an old nature,
but our dependence is on the indwelling Spirit Romans 8:4.
3-- The future tense of salvation. Eventually the believer will be saved into full
conformity of Christ Romans 8:29; 13:11; 1 PETER 1:5; 1 JOHN 3:2.
God is faithful,Having begun a good work in you,He will perform it until the
day of Jesus Christ. Phil.1:6
