Well, I can tell you a few things! Like the food was atrocious! I couldn't eat anything healthy! Every thing seems to come with Cheez Whiz. Philly employees' favorite word when you asked them anything ... was ... No. They didn't say it rude, just a fact, NO.
DenWolf and I were starved, and I was very tired of going around in circles and going the wrong way, just about everywhere. So, we went to this diner, and all I wanted was what I thought, would be a no fail Cobb salad. Den hoped to get some scallops, fresh, since she's in CO. She asked our brand new waitress, are the scallops fresh? So, the newbie waitress asks the cook .... and comes back and says, "Yes, the scallops are fresh! But we don't have any!" LOL
Par for the course in Philly! LOL
Oh, and I forgot to tell you.... when my "Cobb salad" showed up, there was a pile of rubbery greasy bacon, and not a single hard boiled egg! I needed some protein, so I asked, excuse me, but where is the egg in my Cobb salad? The answer was, No, we don't have any! LOL
Den thought Dante might like the bacon I wouldn't eat, but in the end, she said, NO, to that, too, LOL

Oh the JOYS of travelling to dog events ! It's very like that on the road
over here Bee - you either put up with it, or take a huge icebox stashed
with edible food with you to everything.
Dunno why - there are many other events (eg Craft Fairs, Gay Pride) where
vendors are chosen who do decent edibles on site - although that doesn't
get you off the Motorway hook - but I guess it's like the filming: if you don't
have organisers who really think about all the details and their audiences /
participants, you end up with gaps in provision !

Welcome back Bee,
To tell you the truth I didn't know you were gone, other than not seeing any recent posts.
Hope you had a good time.

Lol.... No worries! At least my dogs were happy to see me back home! My kids said they were too busy to miss me!

"Anyone miss me?"
Nope.
Actually, I was reading your updates from the stadium, so I still got my 'daily dose' of your posts!
I've only been to Philly twice, and I ALREADY dislike it. I was hoping to bypass it on my way down to pick up Gracie last spring, but the highway signs are SO atrocious that both times I wound up taking an unintended side trip to the city!
The first time, it took me forever to realize I was on the wrong highway, and it dead-ended in the middle of the downtown. The second time I realized what I'd done wrong, but STILL took a second wrong turn trying to find my way out of town, and wound up going miles and miles out of my way!
And yeah, the food sucked. The only decent meal I had was when I bought a sub from Subway, a brand I was familiar with because we have it here in Ontario. And don't get me started about the coffee....
Luckily, I took leftovers with me, and with the help of the microwave in my hotel room in W. Virginia, made a meal out of them for supper, then on the way home, a friend of mine in Niagara Falls served me a very nice home-cooked meal!
The service centers along the interstate REALLY made me appreciate Tim Horton's!

Hey LF, it occurs to me that when we were all in our teens 'n' 20s,
we didn't know or care how bad the junk food was that we ate back
then ? I really don't think it used to be any better then ...
