Just when you think you've heard it all.

LOL! I read this in the paper today! I thought it was ridiculous! Ponies are mean. Horses are nice.

Guns are dangerous, cell phones are dangerous, certain dogs are dangerous, large soft drinks in New York are dangerous...now horses?  When are people going to figure out you can't control everything?  You can't fix stupid.  By the time we're finished, life won't be worth living. Hope I'm long gone, and my kids never see it either.

Good Post Carlin and I agree....................
Bee I just can't imagine you living there with those viscious animals. OMG. What will it be next? When oh when are people going to take responsibility for their kids' and their own actions?......................................

Now, I have known some vicious horses that would rather kill you as look at you.. One was a stud, a guy kept for breeding, never understood that, considering you couldn't handle him.. It was an Arabian, with some kind of lineage from overseas that Arabian show people wanted.. My vet had to do AI collections on him, charged the guy a crazy amount, since horse was so dangerous.. The other was a Walking horse gelding, he'd bite, kick, run you down.. He ended up with a bullet, the girl couldn't get him where he was safe to be around.. And then I was sold a "kid's" horse that was stand offish on the ground, but went bat shit bronco when you pushed her on her back, she'd hump up and go bronco, with no warning, then try and stomp on you.. The last time she threw me, I ended up scalped and all kinds problems with my neck and head injury.. That  B caught a 270 to the skull.. But most horses would rather run than fight.. Ponies are little buttheads!! Small man syndrome..
I had a bitchin scar for awhile LOL

wow u got messed up with that.

seen way too many incompetent handlers turn horses into something that is only good for a bullet cos they treat them like they are children and not horses -same applies for dogs i guess but horses can mess you up so much easier and better than any dog can.

One of the best trainers comes from your neck of the woods vk4, have you seen any of Clinton Anderson's methods? I like his approach.. A 1000 pound horse is not a pet, they need to respect people.. Not saying I don't love on mine, they get all the loving they want, as long as they don't step over their boundaries.. I've got a 3 year old stud colt that I've owned since he was weaned.. I did all the work with him, ground work, riding.. People don't believe he is a stud, till they look at his junk LoL.. I don't tolerate him being disrespectful, so when we ride out, he doesn't act up,.. Now not saying something will never happen, they are animals with minds of their own, anything can happen..

i haven't seen him personally - things have gone way ahead here in recent years, i was the last of the old school bad ways, i knew it waswrong but did not know what right was.

crazy teenage me jumped on a plane and followed the guy that changed everything in oz - ray hunt - i never caught up with him tho, but had a great time anyway.

not sure what US people think of ray but his impact in oz was profound. there are a lot better since i guess and we have got young guys that are home grown and prolly better than ray but he is the one who broke off the old and started the new for the land of oz.

sux that i was in the generation that just missed out on what the young guys have been given thru guys like ray hunt and his like.

A horse is just a horse.
Like any other animal either raised right by a human or not.
Even a wild horse, they may defend themselves but there is no such thing as a vicious horse, only one that's been harmed by a human.
And like a dog they can pick up bad habits and bad manners.

A horse is not a bunny rabbit, who also bite and scratch.
