Obama’s Dog Airlifted To Family Vacation On Martha’s Vineyard

It’s good to king. Who else but a king – or Barack Obama – could command that his dog be airlifted via U.S. Army Osprey helicopter to the family vacation on Martha’s Vineyard? Bo’s got it pretty good, too.

By the way, more than Bo will be airlifted to Family Obama’s holiday on the Vineyard – including the all-important “presidential basketballs” (seriously). And that’s not the half of it.

As reported by The Telegraph, more than 70 hotel rooms, each costing up to $345 a night, have been booked for Secret Service agents. The Obamas are staying in a $7.6 million, 5,000-square foot retreat on nine acres, which includes a basketball court, of course. (Judging by video I’ve seen of Obama shooting baskets, I wonder if any of the “presidential basketballs” have ever actually been through a hoop?)

Unfortunately, this location amounts to “slumming it” for the Vineyard-savvy Obamas. On previous vacations to the exclusive island, they’ve stayed at the 28-acre Blue Heron Farm, which has since been sold as is no longer available as a “rental cabin.” Like I said, it’s great to be king.

By the way, this is the first time Osprey helicopters – as in two…one for the Obamas and one for Bo and the basketballs -  have been used by a president for vacation purposes. What a shock. It must be part of that “spread the wealth around” thing.

Don't forget the cost of hookers for the secret service, they're on vacation too.

Oh good grief, presidents have been flying out guests, pets, etc to Martha's Vineyard since the first president there.  Oh by the way, Obama's presidency is the first time for a female helicopter aircraft commander in the history of Marine One (the name of the Presidential helicopter).  Her name is Major Jennifer Grieves.

Perhaps Mindhunt did not read the entire article:

"By the way, this is the first time Osprey helicopters – as in two…one for the Obamas and one for Bo and the basketballs -  have been used by a president for vacation purposes."

It was expensive to fly a dog and some basketballs on a separate helicopter.  What a waste of taxpayer money!

It would be my guess that over the years the money spent on such things has steadily increased, and your right, they've all done it.

Maybe you didn't know that there are 2 identical Air Force Ones for every Presidential flight so wouldn't it make sense that there are 2 identical Osprey helicopters?

"It was expensive to fly a dog and some basketballs on a separate helicopter.  What a waste of taxpayer money!"

Good grief!

If they are using the 2nd helicopter anyway, to take the changes
of wardrobe and the various personnel of the 'entourage' - as clearly
any President has to - what possible difference does adding a dog
and a bag of balls make ?  I think Obama travels light, compared
to what some Heads of State cart around with them.
