Is he a hero or a traitor? And what is this guy's future--- does he have one?

by Two Moons on 11 June 2013 - 14:06
He is certainly not a hero or a traitor, and his future depends on how smart he really is.
Nothings private and that's not new, but this brings it home a little better than just saying it.

Hero mostly .. with a tiny bit of traitor. lol
Edward Snowden - He worked for the NSA as a contractor, for 3 month, JUST 3 months. Born in 1984, he's 29yo, a high school drop out, By 1999, Snowden had moved with his family to Ellicott City, Maryland, where he studied computing at Anne Arundel Community College in order to gain the credits necessary to obtain a high school diploma, but he didn't complete the course and later obtained his GED...

In May 2004, he enlisted in the US Army with the HOPE of joining the Special Forces. He wanted to fight in Iraq but was discharged just months later in September after breaking both of his legs in a training accident. His next employment was as an NSA SECURITY GUARD for a covert facility at the University of Maryland, before joining the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to work on IT security...
In 2007, the CIA stationed him with diplomatic cover in Geneva, Switzerland, where he was responsible for maintaining computer network security. Snowden left the agency in 2009 for a private contractor inside an NSA facility on a United States military base in Japan.
At the time of his departure from the U.S. in May 2013, he had been working for defense contractor Booz Allen Hamilton for less than three months as a system administrator inside the NSA in Hawaii.
He was fired on June 10 from Booz Allen Hamilton "for violations of the firm's code of ethics and firm policy." Not sure this is a background for someone to have & keep the clearance that he seems to have had though.

" Because of the crisis, because of the dangers that we face in the world, some new and unpredicted threat, we need more power, more authority, and there will be nothing the people can do at that point to oppose it, and it'll be turnkey tyranny
Yup. What he did took guts, and he's right, we need to stand up now or what he has done, he did in vain.
He's a hero in my books, not many, if any, are willing to give up high paying jobs for the better good of their country.

That is not my definition of a hero, but hell these days everyone's a hero.
It's not like we, or at least most of us already know what's going on, hell Orwell knew.
What do you think of our government using private contractors, that's a big deal for me.
So what you gonna do about this?
Anything?
I got a brand new box of Diamond strike anywhere matches.....LOL
Now you know why there are these private meetings your all so worried about.

Me alone can't do much I'm afraid,
and even though I know what he said is true, (that we have to stand up against our Gov't's) the realist in me knows it's too late.
I'm just spouting.
Matches are good, although, I have a feeling we wont' need them.

It's not over till the fat lady sings Red.
Ever hear that one?
Good thing our forefathers didn't take that attitude.
Waves @ NSA, google, microsoft, and everyone else who is watching over us for our own good.....LOL

Ed seems fairly intelligent,
perhaps he has the wit's to survive this, perhaps not.
Best wishes at any rate.

Yup, I've heard that one.
Here's a funny that really ain't that funny as it's true, but it gave me a second of laughter.

I remember the days of party lines and sharing the phone with your neighbors,
it was sorta like that Redsable.
