Thanks for following the issue, BE. I will be interested to see what, if anything, happens in the Senate, since it seems like there have been some defections( in spite of the risk of IRS retaliation!)

Unfortunately I think it will fail in the Senate. It did last time.

Obama care, Romney care, why can't someone come up with something better?
I wonder.

There needs to be something in place for all the uninsured in this country. So many are working poor who can not afford insurance and in my state, many are not afforded the option for insurance by their employers. Nothing is worse than having a sick child and not knowing how you are going to afford the medication, or an elderly couple who forgo food so they can pay for their medication, or taking medication every 2nd or 3rd day rather than every day, or not being able to afford prenatal care, or having to chose between rent, groceries, or a doctor visit for illness.

The problem is the insurance itself.
Plain and simple.
Monopoly's are a problem.
Politics coupled with money is a problem

Especially after the Supreme Court ruled in 2010 that there is no limit to what companies can spend on political candidates, in effect, buying votes the company way......

I've always said if healthcare was on a cash and carry basis the price of everything would go down.
The whole concept of insurance is criminal.

"There needs to be something in place for all the uninsured in this country."
Estimates by the CBO are that the number of uninsured will drop from 32 million to 26 million by the time Obamacare is fully implemented in 2019. For this trade off we allowed the government to take over our healthcare system. There were always safety nets in place for hardship cases through Medicare, Medicaid free clinics, and the drug companies for those willing to apply. The problem was people who could afford insurance but refused to buy it, then overused the system.
