Preakness 138 - Page 1

Whooaa !!!  Orb's last workout he breezed a half-mile in 47.18 seconds this morning at Belmont Park. That's better than his final workout at Churchill Downs before the KD !! First 1/4 was 24.47 !!

 

Beautiful horse, I hope he wins!

Mr. Orb has a very impressive list of relatives: Bold Ruler (from both his mom and dad), Buckpasser, Damascus, Secretariat, Seattle Slew, and that's just mentioning all the sires and not the Fillies ! He's got the blood, he's got the madness (evidenced by winning on the outside in slop at Churchill), but as they say....."on any given day". lol Seriously,  his bloodline produced 2 Triple Crown winners already 1973 & 1977 !!

His last workout before the Preakness was Monday (video posted above) he'll jog once before (this morning) the Preakness Sat. Jogging after a breeze builds speed ... Mr. Orb came from behind in the slop on the outside corner @ the KD and the first half was the 3rd fastest in Derby history. Not only that but the Derby was his first race in slop. He won three races this year before the Derby on faster tracks. The only reason I knew he loved the slop is by backside word of mouth.

If Orb wins and stays sound .. Orb can win the Triple Crown. Orb is one of those horses that learned to hate dirt in the face, when he broke his maiden this was evident. The KD again proved his hate - he used the corner to run past the dirt in his face (no dirt in your face running outside corners .. lol) .. this horse is track smart - most horses quit after eating dirt - Mr. Orb get's mad !!!

I'm picking Orb to win again and another to win bet on Departing.

Well, Orb certainly has proven he has what it takes to outrun the field.
Unfortunately, there are always fresh horses entered in these races which weren't entered in the previous leg. That can give an advantage. I think that Triple Crown series should only be entered by horses which started in the first, KD. No entering at random. Look at some of the past TC races, only six horse in the field in some of them. Now they need to bring in additional starting gates to accommodate the field.
It's like the Iditarod can only e finished by the dogs started with....not allowed to add fresh dogs to the teem mid race.

It's supposed to rain tomorrow !!!  Will Joel Rosario repeat tomorrow in the Preakness Stakes aboard Orb?   

I hope so. I kind of liked the guy, even if I just wanted to clean up his muddy face throughout his interview. LOL 

Bob Baffert said, "Orb is a freak. Right now, everyone should be rooting for Orb, except the connections of the other horses. Anyone not rooting for Orb, there is something mentally wrong."

I read that in the Sports section today. I am rooting for Orb! LOL   


 

LOL BeeTree. But don't put all your eggs in one basket with the to win tickets .. Goldencents & Departing are going to be tough to beat. Especially if no slop. Most my money is on Orb (or at least what I won leg 1) but I have Goldencents & Departing to win also.   Park Heights Avenue is on with SweetPea !!! YAY !!!

Mr. Orb doesn't need to be in the lead or even stalking the pace. He came from 17th to win the KD. This in only a field of 9. So he can hang back @ dead last, let the speed take the front and still close late to win in slop !!! Keep an eye on the final corner !! If he wins today I believe he will win the Triple Crown !!! I hope you got a good nights sleep because today we PARTY !! Don't forget to #GetYourPreakOn !!!
