I saw her on the evening news and she thanked all the media etc for all the exposure to help her get her message out. What a brave young lady she is. I think many in our country alone should look at her situation and see how many things we take for granted. The thing, IMO, that makes her a stand apart person is that she wasn't just pushing for her own education but also others'.

Very sad.  I hope she's out of that country forever and gets the education she wants and deserves.  I didn't click the link, but I've heard a decent bit on the news after it happened.....I'm curious though, is there any talk of retaliation on her from them? I know the last time on the news I heard she was in a hospital in....the UK? Was it?  I was wandering if the Taliban might have considered or may attempt an attack on them for taking care of her.

Yes she is in the UK and last night her dr talked to the media and said she wasn't out of the woods yet. I haven't heard anything about any retaliation or anything. My guess would be because of the type of person she is that she will go back to Pakistan and continue to fight for education rights.

You know--now this is just my random thoughts--the Taliban must be a frightened little bunch--sure they do all these bad things but it's never like they go to a person and say OK I am going to fight you man to man--they are dirty and sneaky. Anyway my point was they are a sad little bunch to try to take the life of a 14 yr old child who just wants better things. They must have considered her a big threat. Very very sad.........what cowards they are.............

Guy, now the Taliban want to kill her father, a headmaster of a girls school.  And not a word from the government against this act of brutal cowardice.  They are too scared of the Taliban. I also read that more outrage was mustered over that movie produced in America about their prophet than this battle between a grown, evil man and a little girl. I feel the girl is a pawn of her family, too. She promised her father she would go into politics. I believe she is a dead girl, if she returns to Pakistan.
