If I hear one more politician claim to create jobs I'm gonna puke!
The fact that they keep saying it must mean people out there believe it.
If we separate the politician from the money we might actually find someone who genuinely wants to serve the people with honesty and truth.
Jobs are created by private individuals who build from there own ideas creating a service or producing something of useful value.
This takes money and freedom that they are not getting because of politics and greed.
All a politician can do is set policy and that's the problem,
Right now policy does not serve the people, only the select few who pay for that particular service.
I wanna see politicians applying for unemployment, and the unemployed elected to office. And a little truth might go a long way.

in all fairness.......allowing oil drilling and the canadian pipeline would, infact, create jobs. not only that, but some of the current jobs would also open up because other folks would be changing jobs.
true energy independence will create quite a lot of well paying jobs plus lower costs to consumers. it is a win win. romney knows how to make money and as far as i can see, obama only knows how to spend others' money and money we don't have in the first place. :(

In all fairness,
it has nothing to do with party lines or candidates.
Drilling for oil and building pipelines only offers scant temporary jobs for the few who have those particular job skills.
The cost to consumers will never be cheaper, anyone who believes that is dreaming, and as for the pipeline, perhaps the cost may be more than we can afford if that poison was to be released into the envioronment.
It's a balancing act, there is no win win.
Real jobs come from manufacturing, which is what we gave up for higher corporate profits and global politics.
As consumers we gave up quality for cheaper prices to make ends meet.
We shouldn't have to put up with substandard to get by.
Who do you think put us in that position?
While the energy industry might provide some jobs it is not enough by the power of ten to replace what we've lost.
it has nothing to do with party lines or candidates.

No,
we should use our heads and make wise choices.
We are oil junkies and that won't change until it is all gone, then it will be something else.
This was about jobs creation and in all fairness that's gonna require energy, and the absence of politicians.
It's a lie that a politician can create a job, unless it's a government job and then we all know who pays that bill.
Just saying I'm sick of that particular slogan.

first off, you need to realize that oil is a renewable resource. our earth did not create oil and then stop making it. it is an ongoing process.
the reason people have been conned in to thinking it is limited is so that we are easier to manipulate and easier to "rob." i agree that we
need to be smart with our resources, but it is erroneous to believe that we will run out of oil. that just isn't true. much as they have tried to
make us believe that.

Well, don't we need decomposing dinosaurs to produce oil inside the Earth? Did this idea change since the era I went to school? It might be renewable, but the lead time is awful long. Unpracticle really. What do you know that I don't know?

by Red Sable on 20 October 2012 - 22:10
Even if it doesn't take as long to form as some may have us believe, I'd certainly think we are gobbling it up much faster than it can renew itself.
