State wildlife officials are trying to determine the species of a blue eyeball found by a man Wednesday at Pompano Beach, north of Fort Lauderdale.
They put the eyeball on ice so it can be analyzed at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute in St. Petersburg.
Agency spokeswoman Carli Segelson says the eyeball likely came from a marine animal, since it was found on a beach. Possible candidates include a giant squid, a whale or some type of large fish.

[For realz, though, it sure looks like the eyeball I saw removed from a HUMONGOUS great white shark when a couple of biologists disected it out on a nature-themed show I caught a month or so back on Discovery or PBS Nature or Nova or the like. Looks EXACTLY like that shark's eyeball.]

Hexe, I thought the same thing, that it looked like a shark's eye. All I can say is, I'm glad it wasn't staring me down on a dive!

There's also one on the Giant Squid, too, but I didn't watch that yet...could compare the eye of that to the shark's and see which looks closer to this one....pretty cool stuff, though, no matter what it's from.

As far as beetree, could be she was joking, but I don't know, she's been in a mood lately. If so, then I'll take that wad of panties out of my own crack
