Correct, and the great thing about this country is the opportunity to succeed is there for everyone.

If Romney loses the election he can file a revised tax form and reclaim the deductions he did not take. Creative accounting allowed him to chose the rate he wanted to pay and work his way backwards from that point to stay under X%. To achieve that percentage, he had to elminate some charitable deductions. Had he taken all he was entitled to take, he would have ended up paying somewhere around 10%.
The lion's share of his charitable deductions benefitted the Church of Latter Day Saints and Romney family funded charities. Smart move to not claim all since he knew that he was going to run for President when he filed and he knew he could hardly refuse to release returns as recent as 2010. Romney has no real income, he profits from capital gains which are taxed at a significantly lower rate than income.
We still don't know if he claimed all his off shore accounts before amnesty in 2006 and it doesn't look as if he's going to prove that he did or not.

Romney is not a self made man, he was born into wealth. Not like he started in poverty and built his success from the ground up.
Old money seems to be the norm amongst some supporters. So, more lol.

Oh Poor Romney!!! He makes so much money he has to pay more taxes.
Sorry I don't feel sorry or have pity for him or anyone else that is that wealthy. We all have to pay taxes according to what we make. He may have had a highe tax rate, but that was his decision. And trust me, he didn't choose that rate unless it was in his best interest. It surely wasn't because he felt bad that he had that kind of income. JMO

Why is profit and wealth dirty words? Jealousy maybe?
Go move to a banana republic if you want everyone to be miserably equal.
Bill Gates started in his garage with nothing. The oportunity is there for everyone.
The wealthy people are all that is left here, the rest have been financially raped by big government. After you deplete the wealthy how are you going to please the masses and keep them in line? They will revolt, aka Greece, Spain etc.
Remember the inherent problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other peoples' money to spend. This fact is just around the corner.
You can't tax your way out of a depression. But that is the dems answer to everything.

Why is hiding your money in tax havens the in thing? Why is betting against the dollar the in thing? And by the way these things aren't new. If you earned the wealth in America then be proud and keep it in America. Instead of hiding it in tax havens that had nothing to do with you acquiring the wealth in the first place.
No one is jealous but geez quit shipping the jobs and your cash overseas, especially if you want to be President.
Depression? Are you talking about Bushession? Lowering the tax rates of the rich sure wasn't the answer, now was it?
