It was a cold evening, the rain fell against the brim of Johns hat his jacket collar pulled up around his neck his breath left a fine hint of impending cold weather Mary stood next to him leaning into John to help break the rushing wind kicked up by the arriving train. John pulled Mary closer looking deep into her eye,s John softly says

Mary rolls her eyes; expecting a romantic moment from John was like asking for rain in the desert.

Mary reached into her purse without saying a word and produced a box of tic-tacs. She shook one out and popped it into her mouth, crunching it loudly for effect.

She sighed and said, "Morning sickness... I guess, or evening sickness, take your pick."

Thoughts  began to run thru Mary's mind,

as the loud sounds of the Railways ,

began to mount in her head, as darkness came down around her and John.

Her thoughts turned dark, even as the rain abated. She hated what she was about to do. There just didn't seem any way out of the trouble she knew would catch up with her. And John. What to do about John; his adoration was smothering her.

The screech of the train coming to a halt made it impossible to hear what John was saying. What she thought she heard, she struggled with; it didn't make sense to her.

The doors of the train opened and Mary knew she had to get on that train without John. But how to stop him?

Neither of them noticed the tall lanky kid standing half in the shadows. If they had, they would have seen his piercing, shark-eyes locked on them both. The predator stare of a hunter who'd just marked his prey.

If John only knew the the truth about me she though. All those years training in the gulag the torture and pain she endured in her training the many surgeries it took to turn Martin in to Mary all the reprograming this nightmare has to end and in her mind the kid in the shadows was the mechinism of that end her physic training had allerted her to his presence. She knew he had been sent by the KGB to end her after all a spy with her knowledge and training could not be left to disappear with out a trace.

She softly pushed John away with tears welling in her eyes, she had to get on that train no matter what. The crowd started moving faster on the platform whistles blowing steam shooting from the brake valves as the crowd pushed against them both she allowed it to carry her away as a stream carrying a leaf to it,s future or in her case to it,s end.

The automotic doors snapprd shut just as she saw John slowly disappear into the mixed faces of the crowd. She turned to go to here seat clearing the tears from her eyes that she had used so many times to distract from the knife the gun she used time and time again. As she moved to her seat she was taken back by the occupant in the seat be side her. There he was glarring at her from behind those glasses her mortel enemy

Mary then looked at all the newspapers spread out on the table next to her seat, gathered them up, and threw them onto the floor. With all the ruckus and people skedaddling quickly John turned around and noticed she seemed to be finding herself motivation again.

He ran back to her and gave her a big hug whispering in her ear, somewhere amongst physic training, Arbat, the 7-Eleven and this very minute, you appear to have gotten much older, but who is that there beside you ? lol

"He's ... a goat !" Mary gasped.  "I'm sorry,  I just can't talk to him now.  Get me off this train !"
