TOKYO -- Researchers in Japan have found signs of mutation in butterflies, signaling one of the first indications of change to the local ecosystem as a result of last year's nuclear accident in Fukushima, according to one of the first studies on the genetic effects of the incident.

And so it begins. I can't imagine how the people around there are going to escape the same effect.

Hardly a 'beginning'?  Follow-up to: Bikini Atoll / Hiroshima & Nagasaki / Chernobyl / 3-Mile Island etc would also seem to indicate the extent of the legacy of nuclear 'events' ...  or at least as much as 'the public' gets allowed to know.  What will it take for the human race to learn the lessons of history ?
