Any advice is welcome.
I have Norton that is due for renewal in 6 days.
Last 2 weeks I have had slow connections.
Now I cannot access my facebook page.
eBay is also a problem.
everything is so slow.
2 days ago I did a complete scan and Norton only deleted cookies and found and fixed 2 potential items.
Not sure whether to renew Norton or go with AVG (that I had before)
Just did spell check here and it just kept on going until I stopped it agh, agh. I hate it when my computer has a hissy fit !!!!!!!!

malwarebytes.org
superantispyware.com
Try to run these and they should be able to clean it up. Report back what they find.

I have downloaded and ran malwarebytes and "no malicious items were detected"
Still extremely slow to upload almost everything.

In frustration I closed everything down and re booted and now it seems to be OK,
Thanks :):)

I think you should do some more cleanup.... read this, it is not the same as Malwarebytes, (I have that, too, for the PC's):
Be thankful you haven't run into this! There is a cyberwar going on in Syria, too, check this out on the Malware Blog:

Beetree,
I hope you haven't used this http://softwareindustryreport.com/registry-cleaner/best-registry-cleaner.html everything I am finding online about this is bad news. Please look into installing WOT (web of trust) on your computers.
WOT shows you in searches bad sites and also stops you from visiting bad sites. Here is a screenshot of a WOT circle and red is never good.

I haven't done anything since my last fiasco! I did download that WOT thing on the PC's but I was on the MAC.... ? I am afraid I didn't realize what that red wreath thing was all about. It doesn't tell you why that site is no good, so that is confusing? But thanks GSD for the heads-up. I'll have to go back and forth and see if I can figure out what you want me to see....
One point though, I do have PC cleaner still, and Malwarebytes, and I just want to say, Malwarebytes doesn't clean up junk......that PC Cleaner does. I actually think I have downloaded a dozen different trials even that RegZooka at one time or another. Probably should get rid of something, but since I'm in a good place with this stuff at the moment...I'm going to leave it alone, LOL

Malwarebytes will work when you have a major infection. You are right though it doesn't clean the small stuff. I like the superantispyware to keep off all the tracking cookies and small crap.
BTW, WOT works with safari. The link you provided above, when I clicked on it WOT stopped me from even getting to the site. The circles only show up in searches, like at google and yahoo.

And I think it gets rid of duplicates....those can clog up the system and create problems, too. Get a cleaner that does that.
Oh, and interesting about that link because it was the top hit when I Googled using Safari.
I have MacKeeper for the Mac. I don't have the WOT on Safari, obviously, lol, why not give us a link if it is handy?
