Does anyone else on here have a firework ban in their county due to the drout? We haven't had rain in so long here I can't remember, everyones grass is turning brown, they've issued both a burn ban.......and a firework ban.  However I think they only issued it for the county and we're outside the city limits by just a little bit.  That worries me as people are already firing bottle rockets and some other fireworks here (well, back in the trailer park behind the field) every day, all it takes is one to shoot off sideways and explode on the ground. The grass in the fields is already so high that it would start a horrendous fire as well. Not to mention the constant 100+ temps (109 back on Fri), there was some thick dead grass/other plant type stuff (not sure what to call it) out in the sun the other day that had started smoking in our yard because of the sun/temps.

This was discussed last week at the county town hall meeting. 95 - 100 degree days and storms everynight. We have all volunteer fire departments around here - ultimately our fire depts had the final say and the whole town voted in favor - with the exception of a few newbie's in our town who voted for the ban (one man had the nerve to say our July 4th here are too overated) LOL FIREWORKS is ON!!! I love my fireman!! Happy Birthday America forever !!!

What state are you in? I wish we would have storms, but we have had nothing and there is really no real chance of storms in the extended forecast.  I "did" just hear though, the entire state of TN has now banned fireworks, burning, and even grilling of any kind.  Needless to say now that I just found that out, if I hear more fireworks from the trailer park.......someone is going to have a visit from the local cops. It would be extremely easy to start a massive fire over here right now. I like fireworks as well, but......it's just too risky over here right now. The entire state other than the very eastern portion has been without rain for a long while now...... I think we had like one rain about three or four weeks ago and it was so small that it didn't amount to anything.

Im in Pa on AM1 North Eagle Peak that connects to the Alpine in Sumerset from the Appalachian Ridge.

We get alot of storms here, it's been weeks since we didn't have one during the wee hours, on really hot days (over 95 degrees) the storms are severe, magnetic and electric types. It didn't used to be like this .. it's gotten worse in the past 3-4 years. My parents live about 18 miles down the mountain and never get rain or storms when I do, and vise-versa. We're in same County too. Well, at least 1/2 my property is in their county. lol

Sorry to hear of your 4th with no fireworks. I don't think that would fly around these parts, the police would never enforce the ban if the fire depts opposed the ban.

Not too many people like it up this way though, our mosquitoes look like bats and swarm like bees. LOL
