A story as old as time itself, played out over and over throughout the history of mankind.
Anyone take the time to watch it?
Just curious.

Your welcome Jackie,
It was good that the decendants decided to speak of these things, history is too often one sided.
My best to you and Carl,
Moons.

History books are written by the victors, & the victors are seldom unbiased. So we learn that Indians are savages, & the white man is benificent.
Yes, it is good that the descendents tell the stories passed down to them by the folks who lived through it. Generally more reliable than the 'white'-washed version sold in school.
I have a partial series of DVDs my Mom gave to Carl before her decline, made by the same folks that produced that documentary. They are very good, very informative, & they seek descendents to provide commentary on all of them.
Thanks again Moons, Happy New Year! jackie harris

Thanks Moons for posting that. I am always happy to see things such as this because I feel people need to know the truth and not the one sided " truth". I have seen many truthful things about Geronimo and he was a true warrier. I also know some of his descendants. He is buried at Ft. Sill, OK. There is ahuge cedar tree next to his grave filled with tobacco offerings and strips of cloth as used by Indians to signify distress and being held against their will. Although it is on a military base, direct descendants are still allowed to be buried there. Victorio's grave is also there.

History shows this happening time after time down through the ages on every continent.
And the winners always call it progress and as you said, tell the story in their own light.
I think it is important to hear both sides of a story, mainly for our children.
And to keep alive one's heritage and traditions also, keep the knowledge of the old ways, one day they may once again be needed.
What the Europeans did to the Native Americans today would be considered war crimes.
It goes on still in the third world today.
Progress.
