This is unbelievable, but true and happened last night!

I have a cat that only uses the second floor window to go in and out of the house, always at night. He's a pain in the butt about it, and I am always woken up because of him, pretty much every night. We have a screen that fits in the bedroom window, plus it slides to adjust the screen size. Last night was the one and only time I decide to leave open the screen just enough, so the damn cat could go in and out at will. I hope for a good nights sleep.

The cat is also on a no-chicken diet because he was yanking his fur out and I think he's allergic. So he pretty much eats fish. And more fish.

Any way, for some reason I wake and get up, go to use the bathroom, and don't bother turning on the lights. I hear what sounds like munching or cat smacking noises from eating his food. I get up to check his bowls, expecting to see him in front of me, but instead he's behind, meaning he had to have been in the bathtub! Strange I wonder, and so I look. All I can see is this dark mass in the tub. I go to turn on the light.

I see the bloody massacred remains of a full grown rabbit inside my bathtub, well only the hindend, really. Gore, guts, you name it.

The HORROR smiley of it all! I had a strange montage of a vision that combined "Fatal Attraction" with "The Godfather". I freaked out! And just had to immediately wake up the husband. He says to me after the removal, "I bet you never leave that window open again!"

"Yeah, no kidding!", and I said, "Betcha the cat thinks it tastes just like chicken!"

But my  poured out with love for the man who cleaned up the butchered rabbit out of my bathtub, that the cat dragged in through the second story window at 3 a.m in the morning.

I think you need to train that cat in schutzhund!!

Well, I guess it didn't help you sleep any better that night, but I'm thinking even though that is gross, it would be much grosser if he had dragged it onto one of your beds/couches or carpet and started ripping it apart, no?  The bathtub is about the best place for that sort of bloody gore.

And I bet the cat looked quite proud of himself too, huh?

I'm still surprised I haven't woken up to a dead mouse in my bed... Chey certainly brings all of her toys up there! (haven't seen a mouse in this house since she came though... heh)

LOL!  Gotta love cats--they are great hunters!  My two cats love to leave mutilated dead bodies of mice, birds, chipmunks, baby moles, etc. on our porch.

Oh, I have a funny cat story.  I rescued an injured stray cat back in the early 80s.  At the time, I had a snow white budgie with black eyes, one of my favorite birds.  The cat was white with one blue and one green eye.

The bird had a bamboo cage and when I saw the cat trying to jump onto the dining room table, trying to reach the cage, I hung it all the way in the corner of the room, about 5' from the table 6' from the floor.

A couple of days later I came home to find the cat hanging from the bottom of the cage!  The bird was flapping its wings and screeching and the cat was stuck upside down... couldn't jump down and couldn't get up.  The cat didn't stay long after that, and the bird lived to be 9.

I like other peoples' cats, but that was the first and last one I owned.
