been watching news all morning.....at least CA is not going to get hit hard....projecting 1-2 feet water rise...not including waves...so not too bad...most people are evacuating to higher ground...

Here from the West Coast. Sorry to disappoint, but I live in "Emerald City" in the Evergreen State. As usual, we are in a "bubble". The rest of the West Coast and Hawaii are on a Tsunami Alert--Washington is just an advisory. We had/have only higher waves at the coast and there are expected to be unusual and dangerous currents, but no damage. Everyone will be safe, so long as they stay out of the water. I am looking at the Sound now, from the window and it is obvious that 'something" is going on from the unusual activity of the water and the fact that the birds are all in hiding. Not a seagull anywhere, and those things are as omni-present (and numerous) as pigeons.

Too much water over here too, but not like a tsunami.

Possibly as many as 100,000 dead. Fires out of control and no way to stop them. An entire train - gone. Basically all crops wiped out. This is a tragedy on an epic scale, and it's just beginning to play out. My heart goes out to all the Japanese who have been effected by this disaster.

It's times like this, when the USA is one of the the first in line to step up to help, and to help generously, that makes me proud to be an American.
