Found a old revolver at the local pawnshop and am having trouble ID'ing it. the store owner didn't know but thought it was old british calvary. it had a WF stamp and what I later found to be a swiss cross stamp on it. only thing I can find is it might be a 1882 model swiss made revolver. no privitization marks, and every piece has numbers stamped on it.
its a .32 caliber and in super condition.

Not an expert, but my son has one.
Swiss Model 1882 Ordnance Revolver, caliber 7.5mm. Late production serial 36668. Retains almost all original military blue with small amount of holster wear. Mechanically excellent and locks up tight. All numbered parts match. One of the later examples with original grooved walnut grips - which are crisp. Bore should be clean and excellent. A fine example of these well made 19th Century revolvers. There should be no import marks.
The price ranges in good condition around $700.00 .

thank you very much. found one forsale for $900 but it had a black grip with swiss cross on each side of the grip.
couldn't resist buying it. I also have a old .22 ithaca saddle rifle, and another old omega german made revolver. uncle has a double barrel stage coach rifle I've been after for years. eventually I'll quit picking up collectibles and get a new one.

It is a great find. Again I am no expert, a gun owner yes. My son collects this old stuff, henry, colts etc. I love the history he shares with me, that is the only reason I recognized it, or I would have no idea. On the Gun Ownership thread I posted a picture of my Hill Billy family holding weapons while dressed in formals, my daughter is holding a original Henry.
