You know, just because you don't understand something, doesn't mean it does not exist. I think it is silly you won't bother to learn about, what you ask about.

CHICKEN? LOL
CHICKEN? LOL

LOL... we had chicken parm, take out last night! Too tired to cook myself, yesterday. Looks like there is a package of ground beef, defrosted. Could be time to make some meatballs!

Moons, we're talking about something that has been tested, tried and proven to be true decades ago. Before a certain age, young children don't realize an object still exists when it is moved out of sight. Learning to search for an object is one of the developmental stages. I had to know all this stuff to get my teacher's qualifications. It's standard developmental psychology, taught in every university in N. America, and probably in the world.
If chickens didn't know enough to hunt for a bug that ran and hid under a leaf, they'd probably starve to death (in the wild).

Moons: I decided to give your post a dislike, instead. Cantankerous, indeed, yep.

I was addressing Bee's remarks about what I do or don't understand.
Also her link.
I also have mixed feelings about so called psychology, I think it's the basis of a one size fits all mentality and harmful to children because unqualified individuals attempt to apply it blindly to all.
A lot of theory.
Humans develop much slower than almost all wild creatures, I don't try to confuse instinct for intelligence, if the chicken wasn't watching it would be searching under the wrong leaf.
If we are so smart why do we not show it, look around.
Either way it was an observation, the chicken didn't explain it to the observer, so it's second hand knowledge.
All this because Bee was chasing chickens.....lol
