keepthefaith,

We are all volunteers trying to help and we are not affiliated with anyone. If we were to do that then we as volunteers would have to file as a non-profit, which would take forever! A couple of us do not mind running the EBay, we just have to get the items to do so.

Moon, fyi "my day" was up until September 27, 2012 so I think I know a bit more than you do as far as how the military is. No clue seems to fit your ignorant comments quite well.

Jag girl ,
Let me be clear, I respect our troops for what they do for each other given that they have no choice in the matter.
They do serve each other and sometimes at the greatest price one can pay, that deserves respect.
I feel sorry for their sacrifice and the waste of life for reasons other than anything noble.
I have no respect what so ever for military policy or the politicians who make the policies and send people in harms way to kill other people equally stuck in a situation beyond their control.

I hate gung hoe lifer's who spout patriotism as their excuse.

My brother has worked in the VA for thirty years so I have inside information about the VA.
I also know what they have done or better not done for our veterans.

I've seen friends and family come home in bags, though now I think they have improved the bags.
I know what war does to the people caught in the middle, to their homes and lives.

I know our legal system is rigged to make lawyers rich and justice comes with a price tag.

I know there are many needy causes out there.

My views will not make or break your attempt to help this man, it's good you do this.
But this isn't something I would participate in.

Moons.

Moon, it's jaggirl, not jag girl. While the VA does everything in it's power to delay, we are not speaking about them. The individual service members that you insulted through this entire thread are the ones that go day in and day out to do a duty that 99% will never have the guts to do. Most do not like or agree with the politicians in charge and over 80% can't stand Obama. However, just because this Soldier is in the military gives you no right to belittle his situation.

If you do not want to help, that is fine. It's a free country, somewhat. This is here for those that may want to assist a Soldier who is fighting a battle he should have never faced due to corrupt agencies, state laws, and a spiteful wife, all while serving his country.

Jag girl jagirl jaggirl,
what's the difference, sounds like a lawyer in an office and not on the battle ground.

Again you say I belittle and insult, so be it if that's your opinion.

Don't talk to me about guts.

It's a free country somewhat?
Not in a long time jaggirl.

Will our soldiers do their duty if ordered to deploy on American soil?
Do they have the courage to do what's right or will they simply follow orders.

I'm certain financial assistance will be forth coming if the internet is used in this manner, happens all the time.
Some use it for scams and do quit well also.
Not accusing you of promoting a scam, just stating facts.

No one, soldier or not, should have to go through this but it also happens everyday to equally fine people.

I guess I'm sad no one takes up the call for others in the same situation.

They also deserve respect just for trying to live in this mess we have allowed to become the reality.
They have to make choices and live with them just like everyone else, they have to struggle in this life on their own.

jaggirl, creating your own non-profit is cumbersome and time-consuming which is why I suggested using an existing non-profit or charitable institution.

Also, it does help legitimize the endeavor which makes it easier to invite potential donors otherwise there are always those who are wary of whether the funds will go to the intended objective.

Anyway, good luck.

It's jaggirl, as in I am a female who is a huge fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars. I am not JAG. I served as a combat medic and then became a nurse. So uh, yes, there was "battle ground" in my job as a medic.

Yes, I will talk about guts because it's one thing to actually serve, it's another to armchair quarterback behind a computer screen.

As far as a free country, it is still that. However, the entitlement society today has changed the shift a great deal so the PEOPLE of this country are voting for these freedoms to go away.

Now, as far as the military deploying on American soil, if they do so on orders by President Obama, it goes directly against their oaths in the military and almost all have agreed they will not. You have the less than 20% that do support his policies, but the majority know he is skating a very fine line and will protect the COnstitution over a man.

Now, as far as scams, yes people do use it for scams. However, we also have proof that what we have been doing is all going to this Soldier and his daughter. This includes the virtual baby shower thrown for him by his supporters with pictures showing he and his daughter received the items.

Now, as far as others in this same situation, people do take up the call to help and this Soldier's support page has the info for the other fathers in the same situations.

keep,

We are looking at all angles to figure out what the requirements are in each state. It has been a bit cumbersome which sucks. As far as proof things are going to him, we do have that. We have a support page set up and have so far on one fundraiser earned around 30% of his legal fees that have gone to his lawyer. We also had a virtual baby shower online and have multiple pics showing him and his daughter with the items people sent them. We try to insure everything we do is above the board and kept scam free.

(Yes, I will talk about guts because it's one thing to actually serve, it's another to armchair quarterback behind a computer screen.)
This is where we disagree, it takes no guts to sign up, the guts come later when your put in a situation and that's when the real guts appear.

I know your right about most in the military and their oaths, but there are others in fact that would not be so quick to give up a carrier and would in deed follow illegal orders.

Doesn't matter and isn't the topic so I will drop it now.

I made my point, life goes on, and I'm sure help is on the way.
