MAINLYMAX

by MAINLYMAX on 10 August 2011 - 23:08

Sue decides to take a road trip, to get away...
Avoiding Pima county and Taos a place he
once really enjoyed...He ends up just outside Phoenix
at a 3:00 clock in the morning. Stopping at what he thinks is
a large concrete plant, Sue unrolls his sleeping bag to get some sleep.
Later ...awakened by two Fema plant workers on the other side of
some concrete tombs. Sue hears them say...."Make sure these tombs
can hold between 100 to 150 dead bodies..The word is, even if we
work day and night pumping out 6000 a day we are still going to be in short
supply by July 2012"!! Sue thinks to himself, it would take a very big one,
to get sweet pea to fit in there!!

Sue heads off down the road until he sees the neon sign of the beckoning roadside flophouse, Chez Poulet.

Good a place as any thinks Sue, as he heads straight for it. Following him in his head like a diseased blanket, are the evil thoughts shrouding his mind and heart. He is no longer aware of the fine line he straddles, so consumed with Sweet Pea that he is. The line between love and hate seems to yawn wide, become a fiery chasm.

They sat close and still on Sweet Pea's bigger bed, the discovery of their loss just beginning to register, the magnitude of it beginning to grow like a giant pumpkin on a pile of manure. The chirps of the insects and croaking of frogs seemed to swell as if in a vacuum, sucking all thought and feeling into their cacophony. It felt like it was a futile attempt for their brains to hide the realization that something was terribly wrong.

It just didn't make sense. Sue was gone without a trace, and so was the strange object with the mysterious runes.

Sweet Pea stood up and suddenly got that feeling you get when a goose walks over your grave, she shivered involuntarily. She felt a polluted, prodding evil   had brushed up against her. When the moment passed, she asked Angus, "Did you feel anything strange-like? Just now?"

Angus thoughtfully turned to look at Sweet Pea, he was aware of her "gifts", how they can come and go on their own whim, in their own time. He shook his head, NO but said, ....
