I wake up, sipping my coffee, to cock-a-doodle-doo, every morning now! LOL
I don't mind it at all.
Just one question? Aren't they going to have a bunch of baby chicks instead of eatin' eggs, now? Isn't that why one has a rooster to begin with????? She already told me they don't eat their "pets," and chickens can live three years or so. Seems to me that is a recipe for chicken population explosion?

wow...i would be trying to shoot the cock -n- doodle....i like my mornings calm and quiet....

Chickens live much longer than that, though egg production does drop off after a couple of years.
The Rooster keeps the drive going in the hens, and adds protein to the eggs you eat...
Population is controlled by resources, if you can't feed them all they won't survive, doesn't matter what you do or don't eat, but rather what they have to eat.
Advice,
don't wake ladyFrost too early lest ye be shot at...lol
Best let her sleep in...:)
