nodyboy, Never mind the moderator, moderate yourself,I don't know what your problem is,this tragic event has killed well over 100,000 people, most of which most never saw it coming I can only hope that their time was swift and they did not suffer I have made friends with many people from that area and so far no loses that I know of.Your ranting and raving is childish, uncalled for and hopefully no indication of the type person you are? I did check out the site,it is called RESEARCH,not one person should have died in this event,it was hours from what I understand before it reached land, people out enjoying themselves, walking their dogs never to go home to their loved ones again, simply because they were not informed, and should have beenPerhaps in the future you should proof read what you are writing prior to hitting the send button? I certianly see no reason why you of all people should judge what is or is not posted on the forum.Shame on you........you should be ashamed of yourself

I failed to mention,in case you did not take the time to enlighten yourself to the happenings in the real real world, the company in question is run and operated in the affected area

Ahhhhh...i just checked the posts put up by NOBODY. He sounds like a frustrated jerk in all the posts. Not a single post from this guy has contributed anything remotely constructive to the GSD world leave alone contributing to anything else. Well, now I'm not offended. i just feel sorry for the guy.

Charlie, Just to "correct" something you said about not a single person should have died in the Tsunami......... Though I understand the frustration and sadness of us all over this event, it is simply not true that people would not have died even had their been some kind of warning sensor system. Even if such an event hits the west coast of the US someday (and it will as there are also plate tectonics at work in the pacific too), even with a warning system we possess, can you imagine the chaos that would ensue as many, many thousands, perhaps millions would struggle to get away from the coast? Especially if the brunt of any large wave was directed at a city such as the Los Angeles or San Diego area there would be many thousands of lives lost. Of particular note in this event is that the Maldive Islands, for example, are only 3 feet or so above sea level. No warning system would have helped them. Remote villages along coastal areas would also have never been able to evacuate. The warning time was perhaps 2.5 hours. To escape such a Tsunami would have required immediate evacuation by plane.....impossible in most of the affected areas. As well, we have only seen videos to date on news areas of waves coming ashore where people survived. There are whole areas which are wiped clean where people and villages existed. To do that means the waves in some areas really were much higher than anything we saw on TV news. Of course, most people do not realize that a car in two feet of water is going to be moved. The force of moving water is awesome. This is an extraordinary event in our lifetime. I am hoping that every single person on this board will contribute money, as I have done, to a verifiable relief organization. What we all must comprehend is that the immediate effects of the disaster, of course, are on those people present at the time of the Tsunami coming ashore. But the entire world will feel the effects of this catestrophic event when illness breaks out and spreads, as it surely will. It really is likely that as many people who have died as a result of direct impact of the waves may be overshadowed by the number of deaths from lack of clean water, food and shelter and the ensuing disease epidemics which will surely come. Though a massive mobilization effort is underway all over the world, there simply is no way to get aid there quickly enough. This is the truth of all disaster relief, especially when roads, water systems etc, and other infrastructure are destroyed as in this event. This is a time when all of us must begin to appreciate that there is potential all around us for natural catastrophes of unheard of magnitude. It is sad that the peoples of the world can not find a way to exist in peace and harmony. But, at the very least, we all bear a responsibility as citizens of the world community to help as we are able to afford it. I for one am embarrassed that my country, the richest country in the world, has to date pledged only 35 million when the Netherlands, one of the smallest in the world, has also pledged that same amount. I am confident that as the nature of the emergency becomes clearer all of us will help in any way we can and I know the contribution of my country will grow many times over. There will be other such events and because of the human population growth and people making homes where danger exists, each new such event is likely to cause high numbers of deaths. Hodie

Hodie, your right,I did know this as I posted my message,I was just upset that at a time like this somebody, anybody, would make such a useless remark to begin with.I know regardless of the warning systems that are or should have been there, there would have been considerable damages and death, but to comprehend what has happened over as the numbers continue to rise, and most likely will continue to do so for sometime is mind boggling.Nerve in my worse dreams could I have come up with something of this nature, unreal is the only way to put it.........
